PAS ( Pakistan Advertisers Society) Awards have been taking place on a yearly basis for the past few years, and have been doing a decent job of awarding the best in the industry. The awards are attended by the various business leaders and the entire ceremony is to them what ARY Film Awards were to our our actors. However, since these award dont have much of the “masala” element as there are no big hot shots having war of words , nor do they have sizzling divas performing on the latest numbers, the awards have never been so out there. But this time around to change and to spice up things the organizers decided to have some of the biggest divas of Pakistan come and perform at the ceremony. Thus Humaima Malik, Mathira and Sara Loren came and set the PAS Awards stage on fire!
“I am selling the revival of Pakistani cinema:” Shahzad Ghufoor speaks about his film
It has taken five months of wait for Pakistan to release its first film of the year 2014. Things are pretty much now in place, the season seems to be starting, and the first Pakistani film to release this year has been confirmed to be Shahzad Ghufoor’s directorial debut; action-drama flick, The System.
Starring a cast heavily blended with experience and the fresh faces, the film has Shahraz Ghufoor and Kashaf Ali as male and female lead, respectively, and for other significant part of the cast, Nadeem Baig, Irfan Khosat, Shafqat Cheema, Nayyar Ejaz, Rabia Tabassum and Maryam Ali Hussain will be seen in action.

The first Theatrical Trailer of Operation 021 is out!
The hot new theatrical trailer of upcoming film Operation 021 is released now. Stretched on a two minute plus duration, the trailer shows Shaan Shahid in the role of Kashif S. Siddiqui, a highly trained decommissioned CIA operative in Pakistan, apparently brought back to action by the American Intelligence, facing a new threat on the rise. Arth 2 – The first look posters are out for all to see.
Galaxy Lollywood reported a few months back that Shaan Shahid is all set to remake the Bollywood classic Arth . The name of this film was announced to be “Arth 2” and the cast would include Shaan Shahid himself, Humayun Saeed ,Humaima Malick and Uzma Hassan. Now a few months after the announcement , the first look posters of the film have been released and they are just precious. Shaan looks hot, Humaima is stunning and Humayun looks dapper. We are in the fifth month of 2014 and not a single Pakistani film has released. However things are soon going to change as two two big films are all set to release in the coming weeks. Tamanna is releasing on the 6th of June , while the first official release of the year “The System” is all set to hit cinemas next Friday i.e the 30th of May. Also, in addition to being the first release of the year, “The System” is also going to be the biggest release ever for a Pakistani film as it is being released on a whooping 59 screens!

The ARY Film Awards , which took place a few weeks back , had more than its fair share of controversies. From the awards being “rigged” to the infamous war of words between Shaan and Ali Zafar, the night never felt short on entertainment. For those unaware of what went on well we all know how Shaan loves to play the patriotic card. He played it when he apparently refused the negative role in the film Ghajni. He played the same card when he apparently refused numerous other opportunities because he just loves Pakistan too much. Ali Zafar , on the other hand, as we all know has done quite a few Bollywood films and has managed to carve a special niche for himself in the Indian Market. The hopes now are naturally high and it is expected that the year 2014 will be an even bigger period for the local cinema and will take Pakistan film industry to newer heights.
