Sorry guys, Pitbull won’t be performing at the PSL 2019 opening ceremony

Pitbull PSL

The opening ceremony of Pakistan Super League’s fourth installment is scheduled to take place today. Although the fans of the league were already excited for the tournament coming back, the added excitement for many was of the performance of the American rapper, Pitbull, at the opening ceremony of the event.

Many had even flown to Dubai from different parts of the world, including from Pakistan, to enjoy the complete funfilled night at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

But…

But last night, Pitbull “deeply apologized” to his fans through a video message on Twitter and said that he wouldn’t be able to perform at the event. Citing the technical issues his plane was facing, the singer added,  “Unfortunately, what has happened was… it was such a long flight… they took the plane for a test flight, and when they landed, pieces of the engine had come apart.”

Pitbull expressed the devastation he felt after he realized he couldn’t make it to the HBL Pakistan Super League this season but added that he hopes to meet the fans soon, perhaps next year.

The news devastates us as the fans too, but we understand that mishaps like this do happen and that the show must go on.

The Show Must Go On

The star act may have been messed up, but thankfully, PSL has excellent performances lined up even without Pitbull.

For starters, the legendary Pakistani Sufi Rock band, Junoon, will be performing tonight for the second time after their reunion. Then, the fans would also be able to enjoy the performance of the world-renowned pop band, Boney M.

Moreover, we would also see our superstar Fawad Khan crooning the PSL anthem for this season along with Shuja Haider. And last but not least, the Baazi girl of Coke Studio, Aima Baig is also all set to enthrall the audience with her amazing voice.

The opening ceremony of PSL 2019 takes place at 8:45 PM tonight, while the first match of the event between the Uniteds and the Qalandars will start at 10:45 PM.
