‘Parwaaz Hai Junoon’ All Set To Get A Theatrical Release In China

Parwaaz Hai Junoon is all ready to soar once again. It is truly a historic moment for Pakistani cinema as this Hamza Ali Abbasi, Hania Amir, and Ahad Raza Mir starrer film has been announced to get a theatrical release across China on 13th November 2020.

After over three decades, Parwaaz Hai Junoon will be the first Pakistani movie to get a commercial theatrical release in China. Last year a contract was signed between Momina Duraid and Mr. Wang Ye of Fire International Media, as a part of the Pakistan China Trade and Investment Forum, to release the film in China. The film was supposed to get released in 2019 itself but seems like due to the global pandemic, the plan to release the film had to be delayed. Nonetheless, it is great news for Parwaaz Hai Junoon and Pakistani cinema in general that a Pakistani film is able to get a release in one of the biggest cinema market in the world.

A truly successful film

Produced by Momina Duriad under the banner of Momina and Duraid Films and distributed by HUM Films, Parwaaz Hai Junoon was released on Eid-ul-Azha 2018 and became the highest international box office grosser at the time. Parwaaz Hai Junoon is also one of the top five highest-grossing films of the country and the first Pakistani film that was released commercially in the Kingdom of Saudia Arabia. Now, as the first Pakistani film in over three decades to get released in China, the film is bound to open doors for all local films to the world’s largest cinema market.

Galaxy Lollywood had reached out to Momina Duraid last year when the news of Parwaaz Hai Junoon being released in China was first announced. Talking about this historic achievement, Momina Duraid had said:

“It’s a big day for the entire film industry. Allah has been very kind. InshaAllah, Parwaaz Hai Junoon will open up doors to China, for all Pakistani films coming in the future just like our first film Bin Roye became the first Pakistani film to simultaneously release internationally and opened international avenues for the industry. We are expecting a release all over China which has more than 50000 screens.”

After producing Bin Roye which successfully paved ways for Pakistani movies to get international releases in countries like the USA, UK, Middle East, Australia, and Canada, this is the second film produced by Momina Duraid that will be opening new avenues for future Pakistani films at an international level.

We wish the team behind Parwaaz Hai Junoon all the very best as it takes off for this exciting new journey!
