O21’s new trailer is smart but mellow, fast but disconnected
By: Aayan Mirza
Read the headline of this article once again. How would you evaluate it if you had to, this is how I would: Apparently, it looks smart, good enough to read, but there is something wrong with it – it is inconsistent within itself: What has the word ‘smart’ got to do with ‘mellow’, and how does ‘fast’ connect with ‘disconnected’. That is what’s wrong with the headline there, and that’s exactly what we evaluate of O21’s new trailer.

Shoaib Mansoor and Salman Ahmad plan a feature film on Polio
By: Aayan Mirza
Shoaib Mansoor over the years has established himself as the most right authority on filmmaking with socially activated subjects in Pakistan. His Khuda Kay Liye in 2007 dealt with the subject of forced marriages and the overall state of Muslims and South Asians in United States post September 11, while in 2011, he released Bol and voiced the issue of population control in Pakistan.
With that established, today we report you that Shoaib Mansoor is once again on a new film. A new project, a highly deserving social subject and…well, his own distinct magic.

GL EXCLUSIVE: Fawad Khan in Maula Jutt?
We have been hearing a lot about Bilal Lashari’s Maula Jutt lately. The project is highly anticipated, thanks to the mind-blowing success of Waar, and there have been a bundle of rumours surfacing from time to time regarding the star cast of this mega budgeted project.
An interesting one made headlines a few months back when it was reported that Noor and the troublemaker Gullu Butt had been finally stamped by the ace director Bilal Lashari. Bilal, however, denied all these Chinese whispers and said casting was under way for the Maula Jutt remake, and that no one in particular had been finalised for the lead yet.
