“Ya Allah Tera Shukar Hai” Exclaims Mohsin Abbas Haider After Wife Fatima Sohail Files For Khula!

Mohsin Abbas Haider has been in the news for quite some time now, following domestic abuse allegations from his wife, Fatima Sohail. Fatima had provided pictures and medical reports as proof to show that Mohsin had abused her both physically and mentally. Moreover, she had also accused Mohsin of having an extramarital affair with the model, Nazish Jahangir, during her pregnancy.

Police Investigation

On July 23, 2019, Fatima registered a first information report (FIR) with the police against the actor, which included along with other allegations; threats to kill his wife. As per reports, Mohsin was found guilty of threatening Fatima but he was proven innocent of breach of trust and demanding money from his wife, as no money trail was found.

Furthermore, in contrast to Fatima’s side, Mohsin’s side of the story was never heard, and to our interest, the actor had a lot to say. He claimed that he was cleared of all the charges, except trespassing his wife’s property, which was the only allegation he was found guilty for. Moreover, he also accused Fatima and her family for not appearing in the court for any of the hearings. Mohsin also uploaded a video on his Facebook handle, where he, along with his lawyer Adnan Tariq, discussed the case and stated that Fatima did not have any witness. Mohsin said that he holds it against the Film and TV industry members for blindly believing ‘“a crying woman”. “I hope people who have caused me so much stress to come out and say what they have to say now,” – Mohsin said while expressing his dismay on his fraternity’s reactions.

Fatima Sohail on the other hand, also uploaded a video along with her lawyer stating that Mohsin had been proven guilty and was evading arrest because of high connections. She was also unsatisfied with how the police investigation was handled, therefore she plans to write an application to the IG Punjab, requesting a fair judgment from an honest man.

Is Mohsin Remarrying?

While we were still confused about the verdict of Mohsin’s police investigation, another interesting piece of news surfaced on the internet. And now this morning Mohsin Abbas Haider posted a status on his Facebook, that he has received a Khula notice, and is glad to be out of such a toxic relationship with a liar. As confusing as this controversy already is, the news about the couple’s Khula has made it even more complicated. As many might believe that ‘celebrating’ such an occurrence is indecent, others might not think likewise, because of what Mohsin had claimed. Box Office: ‘Superstar’, ‘Parey Hut Love’ And ‘Heer Maan Ja’ Complete Two Weeks

After riding high on the Eid wave, and surviving the post-Eid-blues, all the films have completed two weeks at the box office but the steam seems to be running out. There has been no new major release this Friday, which has helped the films stay afloat but the mixed reviews have played a spoilsport which can be seen by the numbers that have come out.

The good part is that both Parey Hut Love and Superstar have not seen any massive falls and have sort of maintained the post-Eid numbers which though weren’t that great either, but well at least they are stable. The business now will see a bigger decline as Muharram has begun which is generally a bad time for cinema. Here is a detailed breakdown:

Parey Hut Love

The 11-day first week had brought in 15 crores at the box office. The second weekend then recorded a 2.1 crore number after which the next four days the movie has managed to bring in 1.10 crore taking the second-week number to 3.2 crores.

Given how the film is made on a huge canvas with a big budget it needs to maintain the numbers which though will be tricky given how Muharram has begun. However, let’s hope that the collections do not fall too much and the film continues bringing in money.

  • 11 Day Extended Week 1: 15  crore
  • Second Weekend: 3.2 crore

TOTAL: 18.2 crore

Superstar

The first 11 days for Superstar were also 15 crores and just like Parey Hut Love, even this one saw a fall and has been maintaining similarly on lower levels. The second weekend brought in 2 crores and the next four days has done a business of 1.2 crores just edging past Parey Hut Love  Monday To Thursday period).

HUM has a knack of managing their movies well when it comes to budgets and therefore while Superstar collections might not have been huge but considering the budget, they are good numbers. The Mahira Khan starrer, however, will find it tough from here onwards due to Muharram but we hope that it continues bringing in the numbers.

Heer Maan Ja

Heer Maan Ja got sandwiched between the two big films, the collections have been on the lower side and the film is struggling to add money to its kitty. The film added 20lacs after 5.78-week crore in the first 14 days and looks like the film will not be able to touch the 10 crore mark. Whether it is in the safe territory or not depends on the budget which different numbers are floating in the market.

  • 11 Day Extended Week 1: 5.78  crore
  • Second Weekend: 0.93 crore

TOTAL: 6.71 crore

Final Word

Eid-ul-Azha 2019 numbers have not been too encouraging and since there is no new big-ticket content coming up, this dismal performance will just make things tougher for the ailing industry of ours.

Box Office: Second Weekend Numbers for ‘Superstar’, ‘Parey Hut Love’ And ‘Heer Maan Ja’

The long Eid ul Azha holidays are over and the films: Superstar, Parey Hut Love and Heer Maan Jaa are in their second weeks, trying to add more money to their total tally. Now while all three films had a good first five days, they started losing momentum in the next six days, and as reported in the previous box office report the films needed to sustain better to stay on the course of being hits.

The second weekend for the films has gone well but when we consider the fact that collections in the first 11 days had not been that high, the levels maintained do not look quite impressive. All the movies had gotten an open week with a huge number of shows, but the collections are taking quite some time catching up to the levels of business done during Eid ul Azha 2017, forget getting close to massive numbers of Eid ul Azha 2018.

Moreover, Parey Hut Love and Superstar were earlier going neck to neck at the box office these past few days, but after the second weekend, Parey Hut love has kind of edged past the collections of Superstar. Here is the detailed breakdown:

Parey Hut Love

The collections of the film on first post-Eid weekdays had fallen quite a bit as they were only a mere 1.6 crores from Monday to Thursday. The second weekend, however, showed some good gains as the film went onto collect a good 2 crores 10 lacs in 3 days. This showed a 60% fall from the first weekend which is not a bad feat, but again the film is sustaining on lower levels. This took the films 14 day total to 17 crores 10 lac which is a nice respectable number.

One interesting thing is that if the film can capitalize on the weekend audience then it will have another good upcoming weekend as no big film is coming out, allowing the film to do good business in the long run. Good business in the coming days is very important for Parey Hut Love as the film is riding on a big budget.

  • Extended Eid Weekend ( Fri- Sun): 5 crore
  • Weekdays ( Monday- Thursday): 1.6 crore

Superstar

Superstar, as reported in the previous box office report was going neck to neck in the first 11 days as the total of this film was also 15 crores but in the second weekend it raked in about 2 crores and now this film is a tad bit behind Parey Hut Love. Superstar at the moment stands at a cumulative total of 17 crores, which on the brighter side is the highest collection ever for a Mahira Khan starrer, beating her previous best Ho Mann Jahaan.

Superstar could have maintained better numbers but the collections here arent alarming, because the budget is not as high as Parey Hut Love. The film, however, has the potential to improve by sustaining better in the coming days and taking the lifetime run above the 20 crore mark.

Heer Maan Ja

Heer Maan Ja was always choice number three for the audiences but it still did decent business. The movie hadn’t held quite well post the Eid festivities and the second weekend was no different. he movie has taken its 14 day total to 6.5 crores approximately which is a decent number for the film.

  • Eid Holidays ( Mon- Thur): 3.8 crore
  • Extended Eid Weekend ( Fri- Sun): 1.3 crore
  • Weekdays ( Monday- Thursday): 0.68 crore
  • 11 Day Extended Week 1: 5.78 crore
  • Second Weekend: 73 lacs approximately

TOTAL:6.50 crore

Final Word

The month of Muharram starts from the upcoming weekend on Sunday, during which many cinema-goers avoid watching movies. This will not be great news for the movies as they have relatively done better on weekends. However, we do hope that the collections continue coming in the month. The coming five days will be vital for the lifetime run of these movies.

Guess What: Nabeel Qureshi and Fizza Ali Meerza To Release Two Films In 2020!

Back in March of this year, it was announced that the makers of hit films like Actor In Law, Na Maloom Afraad franchise, and Load Wedding, producer Fizza Ali Meerza and director Nabeel Qureshi, would not be releasing any film in 2019. Fans of the duo were quite disappointed to hear that as the duo has made a firm and respectable position for themselves in Lollywood by giving back-to-back hit films since they released their first film, Na Maloom Afraad, in 2014.

The good news is that both of them are teaming up yet again under their production banner Filmwala Pictures, not for one, but two films which are scheduled to release in 2020.

The titles

The first of the two films is titled Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad. This action-comedy film will revolve around a notorious cop and is expected to be an action thriller consisting of various twists and turns with quick-witted humor. Seeing how this genre is somewhat of a signature for this duo as seen by the success of the Na Maloom Afraad franchise, it is surely exciting to see them return to doing what they do best. Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad is scheduled to release on Eid-ul-Azha, 2020.

The second film is titled Fatman, a thrilling action comedy-drama revolving around an ordinary person who becomes a superhero by accident. With global cinema being dominated by various superhero film franchises, the idea of a desi superhero sounds not only exciting but promising as well. There has been no word as of now about this film’s release date but seeing the team’s history, it is safe to assume that Fatman is most likely to be an Eid release as well.

A deliberate decision

Apparently, the makers deliberately took a break from film-making in 2019 as they disclosed that they had been working tirelessly on perfecting the scripts of these two films for the past year. Fizza and Nabeel are often credited with bringing fresh and innovative ideas on screen. They believe that every Pakistani filmmaker should also do the same, as uplifting Pakistani cinema can only be done via a collective effort. The reason why they are releasing two films in 2020, as opposed to just releasing one film per yer as they usually do, is because of the ban on Indian movies.

Did Mohsin Abbas Haider Just Cryptically Announce His Marriage To Nazish Jahangir?

Not long ago, Mohsin Abbas Haider was drowning in a controversy regarding domestic abuse. His wife, Fatima Sohail, had accused him of abusing her verbally and physically while she was pregnant with their child. Fatima also accused Mohsin of not supporting for and caring for their child once he was born. The controversy had created a lot of noise with everyone from the social media awaam to industry folks giving their two cents about the situation.

The accused and the defendant both held press conferences to tell their sides of the stories, witnesses supporting Fatima’s allegations also went on-record on national television, and Mohsin had to face backlash from the entire entertainment industry, with colleagues and friends publicly announcing distance from him. The popular show on Dunya News, Mazaaq Raat, of which Mohsin had been a part for a very long time, also cut ties with Mohsin till the matter was settled and Mohsin’s innocence was proved. The Other Woman

Apart from domestic violence allegations, Fatima had also accused Mohsin of having an affair with a model/actress Nazish Jahangir. Fatima came under oath to say that Mohsin had been with Nazish during her pregnancy and would openly talk to her while abusing Fatima.

Mohsin had naturally denied all these claims and called Nazish Jahangir a “mutual friend.” Nazish had also taken to her Instagram and denied any such relationship while urging people to listen to both sides of the story before getting on her case.

Recent Development

This matter was heavily covered by the media with new developments happening almost every day. But once the matter went into court and both the sides were done sharing their sides of the story, the dust more or less settled down, and the world moved on to newer things. But then, something rather interesting caught our attention.

One of Mohsin’s fanpages on Instagram posted a collage of his and Nazish’s picture with the caption “Best Couple Soon’. Usually, such posts are dismissed as wishful thinking on the fan’s part. Numerous fanpages tend to get involved in the whole shipping business, not all of which have any basis in reality. But when such posts gets endorsed by the celebrities in question, that is when things unwittingly become serious.

There was a comment under the post by none other than Nazish Jahangir herself which read, “Soon InshaAllah”. But the most interesting thing here is that both the post and the comment by Nazish, were liked by, who else, but Mohsin Abbas Haider. Hmmm, curiouser and curiouser.

The same account also posted a story about Mohsin and Nazish’s families giving their blessings for the marriage between the couple that, apparently, is set to take place soon. Talk about interesting developments indeed.

While the post doesn’t mean anything definitive as it is does not have a validity of a wedding card à la Hamza and Naimal, but the very public acceptance of both Nazish and Mohsin does make us wonder if there’s something serious brewing. While we were all busy discussing the engagements and relationships of the who’s who of Lollywood, somewhere on the internet a lone wedding card surfaced. Hamza Ali Abbasi and Naimal Khawar’s wedding card created a frenzy all over the internet. Some people were heartbroken, some happy but everyone was shocked.

Hamza then came forward with a lengthy Facebook post in which he confirmed the news. He said that he’d been friends with Naimal for the past 2 years but only recently had Allah put it in his heart to ask her hand in marriage and she’d agreed. He also admitted that his purpose for going through with the wedding was only to make Allah happy and there had been no prior relationship between the two.

Yesterday, the couple’s nikkah took place and here’s what all went down.

All White Everything

The couple chose to have a simple nikkah which will be followed by a walima. The nikkah took place at Monal, Islamabad. The setup was very intimate, the theme was white and Hamza and Naimal got married amongst friends and family. The event was beautifully managed by Arij Innovations.

Eid-Ul-Azha has always been fruitful for the exhibitors and this year was no different. The festivities began last Monday with Eid, followed by a weekend, and then the weekdays, resulting in an 11 days an extended week 1. As expected the two big movies Superstar and Parey Hut Love brought in some good moolah for the local cinemas while Heer Maan Ja also made a decent collection.

However, it is worth mentioning that while the films collected big numbers over the Eid weekend, they all saw a steep decline in numbers once the weekdays began which can be attributed to the mixed/bad reviews that all three films have gotten from the critics and the audiences alike. This negative word of mouth has played a spoilsport resulting in collections which aren’t as great as was expected.

Superstar and Parey Hut Love are both tied in for the first position whereas Heer Maan Ja is in the second position. Here is a detailed breakdown:

Superstar had the strongest opening among all the releases and did good business in the first 4 days, which were national holidays. The credit here goes to Mahira’s box office pull amongst the crowds as the film stood victorious against the huge budget and promotions of ARY release; Pary Hut Love.

Friday onwards the film did see a slight decline as it was a working day after the 4 day Eid festivities, but it picked up the momentum over the weekend. However, there are no major releases lined up for the next couple of days so the films have a chance to make some more money at the box office. Ali Rehman and Hareem Farooq Regret Not Doing These Films!

Ah, the regret of passing on something is a feeling that we are all familiar with and actors are no exception to it. There have been many instances of actors opting out of projects either due to prior commitments or miscellaneous reasons. In the latest episode of The Munshi Show featuring the hitmaker duo of Hareem Farooq and Ali Rehman Khan, the two actors talked about their regrets of having to pass on two of the most critically acclaimed films of recent times – Cake and Laal Kabootar.

Ali Rehman on being offered Cake

While talking about some movies that have been pitched to Ali, he was asked whether or not he regrets doing less television than films as TV is the bigger medium in Pakistan. Ali replied saying that he only has one regret and that is not being able to do Cake when it was offered to him.

“We were doing Parchi at that time and unfortunately the dates clashed. Parchi got delayed and I could’ve done Cake.” Ali candidly explained. He said that the film had looked good to him when it was offered and then ultimately came out to be the film it is so he does regret passing it on but not too much.

“It’s not like, ‘oh my god!’ or I lost any sleep over it.”

Hareem Farooq on being offered Laal Kabootar

During the rapid-fire round, Hareem was asked about one role from recent times that she wished was offered to her. Taking a moment to reply to the answer, Hareem confessed that she wished she could’ve done Laal Kabootar.

“I wish I could’ve done it. It is a beautiful film. I was offered to do it but I couldn’t do it because when it was supposed to start shooting, I was stuck with the promotions [of Parchi].”

‘Meray Paas Tum Ho’ Creates History And Sets A New Ratings Record!

Ever since it was announced that Humayun Saeed would be making a comeback on television, two years after giving a winning performance in Dillagi, fans had high expectations from his upcoming project. To add more to their excitement, it was announced that Nadeem Baig would be directing it and Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar would be penning the script. Both of them are considered excellent in their respective fields. And when Ayeza Khan was roped in to play the leading lady, the audience could not wait to watch the first episode. The drama, titled Meray Paas Tum Ho, went on air on ARY Digital this Saturday and needless to say, the response was exactly as one would expect it.

A new record

According to ARY Digital, the first episode of Meray Paas Tum Ho received the highest ratings ever for the first episode of any drama in Pakistan’s history. That is certainly an achievement for the whole team- that too just after the first episode. This should not come as a surprise considering Humayun Saeed is considered a superstar in Pakistan. His latest venture on the big screen Jawani Phir Nahi Aani 2 (JPNA2) went on to become the highest grossing Pakistani film ever.

Furthermore, his pairing with Ayeza Khan was bound to create magic on screen since she has been at the top of her game for quite some time now. Both the stars have created a strong fan base and we can only imagine what would happen as the story moves forward. The drama even managed to garner more than 3 million views on YouTube.

The Story

The story is rather simple for now. Humayun and Ayeza play an ordinary married couple Danish and Mehwish, belonging to the middle class. They have a son named Roomi. Since Danish works in a government organization, they can barely make ends meet. While Danish is happy with his life and is madly in love with Mehwish, she has other expectations from it, which unfortunately, Danish is not able to fulfill. The drama also consists of a great supporting cast including Adnan Siddiqui, Hira Mani, Mehar Bano and Mohammad Ahmed. It would be interesting to see whether Danish’s love for Mehwish will be enough to keep her happy.

Let’s hope that the drama keeps the viewers hooked till the end and we can’t wait to see how the story unfolds!

First, Ahad Raza Mir and Sajal Aly went official by posting their engagement picture on their respective instagram handles, and the industry burst into congratulatory messages for this much adored young couple. Then, Yasir Hussain proposed to Iqra Aziz at the 19th Lux Style Awards and for a while that was all that everyone talked about. But little did we know that the real surprise from the tinsel town was in the pipeline.

A day ago, Hamza Ali Abbasi began to trend of social media once again but this time for a reason so surprising that no one saw it coming – his impending marriage. And that too with the current star on the rise, Naimal Khawar! Screenshots of the invitation cards for the couple’s upcoming nikaah and valima ceremony were posted alongside the news, making this announcement not just a speculation but an event just days away from becoming a reality.

The Confirmation

Without wasting any more time than necessary, Hamza Ali Abbasi took to his Facebook and confirmed this news himself. In a long message, Hamza wrote about how in his journey of becoming a better human being and getting closer to the Almighty, he had a rather surprising change of heart that made him propose to his long-time friend Naimal for marriage. Emphasizing on them having a platonic relationship before and not being involved in any dating scene, Hamza wrote about how he hadn’t popped the question because he was deeply in love with Naimal, but instead he had decided to take this life-altering step of his life because it is an act that pleases Allah. And how he is now very happy and satisfied that he asked the question and Naimal said yes to it.

“Now we can’t even breathe without each other!” reads a line in Hamza’s post which beautifully explains the love that these two have formed for each other after being bound in this relationship that is to last for a lifetime, InShaAllah.

The post ends with Hamza affirming that the two are set to get married in a small nikaah ceremony on the 25th August, followed by a small valima on the 26th August.

On twitter Hamza has, in true Hamza Ali Abbasi cheeky manner, praised Naimal for being okay with a “ganja” Hamza on their nikaah day (Hamza has recently performed Hajj and as per the final obligation for the completion of the pilgrimage, the male pilgrims are to shave off their head.) It made us all go, “awwww!” at this rather adorable display of affection from Hamza’s side for his future wife.

It will be interesting to see how Hamza, a Punjabi, and Naimal, a Pashtun, blend their diverse cultures at their small but definitely intimate wedding ceremony.
