A press release came out today announcing the title of the film as Saat Din Mohabbat In (SDMI) which is an innovative, offbeat romantic comedy set in contemporary Karachi.

Directed by the critically acclaimed duo of Meenu and Farjad, the film stars gorgeous Raeeszaadi Mahira Khan and handsome hunk Sheheryar Munawar. Interestingly, the two leads are great friends (you have to check out their dubsmash videos), so it will definitely be a treat to see both these stars together in a film where we get to see their chemistry.

Moreover, the script is written by Fasih Bari Khan of ‘Quddusi Sahab Ki Bewah’ fame and the film is a hilarious romantic tale about a young man’s quest to find his true love in a crowded Karachi neighbourhood, and the obstacles, both spiritual and physical, that he must overcome in order to achieve his goals.

These online short films made by Shamoon Abbasi are treat to watch!

You may only know on-screen villainous side of TV and cinema’s favorite bad man, Shamoon Abbasi, but you may not be aware that he has got great passion for the film making.

One of his latest ventures is the series of six short films, written and directed by him. Three of these short films are released on the internet and available to watch for free on YouTube. The other three will be released soon.

Worry not, Dr. Shaan Shahid is here to help you with your scripting problems!

Developing strong screenplays has never really been our hallmark when it comes to Pakistani Cinema and it would not be wrong to say that poor scripts have been the main reason for a lot of failures that we have seen coming out of this new wave.

It is often said that veteran film-makers have a strong command over the script and having them collaborate with new age makers would guarantee films that are technically sound while also having that filmy punch.

While we are yet to see any such collaboration happening, veteran Lollywood superstar Shaan Shahid has made a move where he wants to help bridge this gap between the old and the new.

Yes, Shaan Shahid, who has been in the industry for more than 25 years now has offered consultation whereby he will be providing producers with filmmaking solutions from script doctors, screenplay writers, onscreen time management and more of the nitti gritties.

To know more we contacted Noman, manager of Shaan Shahid, and he confirmed that this is infact true and Shaan has offered these consultation services for quite some time now. “And why not” he adds  “Shaan has had formal training in filmmaking from The City College of New York and he has been a part of the industry for more than two decades so I’m sure he definitely knows a thing or two about film-making.”

Well, this is indeed quite an interesting offer from the actor and we hope lots of newbies trying their hand with film-making will make full use of this opportunity.

‘I love Salman Khan, my comment was just for fun’ says Saba Qamar on the uncalled for controversy!

As much as our actors try to stay out of controversy, they are always pulled back into it one way or the other. Moreover, due to the clickbait era we live in,  the media will try to create smoke when there is even no fire!

Recently Lollywood Actress, Saba Qamar, who is all set to make her Bollywood debut opposite Irfan Khan, caught the attention of our media all for the wrong reasons. Saba Qamar appeared in ‘Good Morning Zindagi’, hosted by Noor Wali who, in a fun segment asked Saba Qamar to reject Bollywood actors given hypothetical situations. Let me repeat that again, Noor asked Saba to reject Bollywood actors, that was the game okay! She had to reject actors and give interesting reasons.

We saw Hrithik Roshan, Emraan Hashmi, Ranbir Kapoor and a few others, but who grabbed centre stage was none other then Salman Khan aka Sallu Bhai! Noor asked Saba Qamar to reject the role opposite Salman Khan citing a reason. Saba Qamar first and foremost went on to say she was scared of Salman Khan but if she had to say no for thats what the game was about she called him chichora for not following the choreographers instructions and creating his own dance steps.

We, at Galaxy Lollywood, contacted Saba Qamar regarding her statement to which she replied “Whatever I said about each of the actors was just for fun at that moment . I love and respect the Indian film industry especially Salman Khan, who is such a huge star and so humble.”

Following Saba Qamar clearing the air, we totally believe her comment had been blown out of proportion to create undue controversy and mirch masala was added for no reason whatsoever. In our most humble opinion, we believe the media should work towards promoting our film fraternity and the actors who help it grow and not bring them down because of small, petty issues.

More power to Lollywood!

The shooting of Ali Zafar-Maya Ali starer ‘Teefa in Trouble’ kicks off!

The shooting of Ahsan Rahim’s directorial debut ‘Teefa in Trouble’, starring Ali Zafar and Maya Ali, has just begun and we cannot hide our excitement.

The film, which has been in pre-production for quite some time, finally commences the principal photography.

Ali Zafar took part in the shoot on first day and shared about it with some behind the scene shots on Facebook. He showed excitement around the project and expressed his gratitude for his remarkable journey.

The leading lady of ‘Teefa in Trouble’, Maya Ali, has not joined the team for shoot yet, as her spell will start little later. (She is, however, recently spotted traveling with Shaz Khan and choreographer Niggah Hussain and we wonder what is cooking between them!)

Have Sheheryar Munawar and Mahira Khan signed Farjad-Meenu’s next?

Well well well, now this is some news!

Rumors mills have been buzzing with the possibility of a collaboration between Shehryar Munawar and Mahira Khan as apparently,  the duo is all set to appear together in Farjad Nabi and Meenu Gaur’s next film.

Interestingly, this news first made it online a few weeks back where an internet portal reported that Mahira Khan might be signing a film directed by Farjad-Meenu but nothing was official as such.

We decided to contact the two leads in question, to get an official confirmation on the film. While Shehryar just confirmed to us that he has indeed signed the film, team Mahira Khan ‘can not comment as nothing is official as yet’, which basically is another way of saying ‘ we will let the makers do the announcement‘. So all you Sheryar-Mahira fans can rejoice as you will be seeing this good looking Ho Mann Jahaan pair once again on the silver screen.

But what will be interesting to see is that how do these two actors fit in the crazy world of Farjad-Meenu and writer Fasih Bari Khan who in the past gave us the acclaimed ( yes, we know its debatable) ‘Jeewan Hathi’. Because let’s admit it, Farjad-Meenu are known for a very different kind of cinema which show things as is without the exaggeration and filmi-ness that mainstream cinema has. So let’s wait and watch.

Here’s waiting for an official announcement from the makers.

Teaser of song ‘Hay Naya Naya’ from the movie Jackpot piques our interest!

The teaser of second song ‘Hay Naya Naya’ from the movie Jackpot is out and it piques our interest with melodious composition, shit-hot cinematography and picturesque locations.

The song features debuting actors Inayat Khan and Reyhna Malhotra and gives a sneak peek of cracking chemistry between the duo. Sung by Asim Azhar and Afshan Fawad, the song is shot on the beautiful Coral Island in Thailand, awaking the hidden wanderlust of setting on a trip to a scenic exotic location and do nothing but listen to the fine music and groove!

Interestingly, the film featuring four debutants ( Noor Hassan and Sanam Chaudhry are also a part of the film) is also the debut for the director. Yes, comedy thriller ‘Jackpot’ is the directorial debut of Shoaib Khan and it would not be wrong to say that thanks to this teaser and the one that came out last month, expectations are high from Mr Khan. We talked to the director to know more about the film and he mentioned that there is one Lahore spell remaining and after that is done the film will release in cinemas somewhere in the third quarter.

This is one film which is definitely on our most eagerly awaited list!
