5 Reasons Why Fairy Tale 2 Is Worth The Watch

Fairy Tale 2

The sequel of Fairy Tale has unquestionably exceeded expectations. Garnering millions of views and cultivating a delighted base is a remarkable feat, especially when it comes to meeting expectations of an already enthusiastic fan base following the success of season 1. However, Fairy Tale season 2 continues to thrive and captivate its audience.

Season 2 stands tall due to several reasons. Of course, it is owing to the undeniable chemistry and strong fan base that Hamza Sohail and Sehar Khan have built post Fairy Tale season 1 success and the fun-filled episodes that the audience gets to enjoy.

Here are 5 reasons we believe Fairy Tale season 2 is worth watching.

Umeed and Farjad’s office romance and beyond

Farjad and Umeed have raised the bar when it comes to delivering an appealing love story to the audience. The dynamics shared between the couple is entertaining to watch, to say the least. The couple has perfected the right balance between romance, banter, and the element of friendship, intricated in their relationship.

The office sequences proved to be a visual delight, infused with an enchanting romantic essence. The myriad interactions held us captivated, particularly Umeed’s endearing possessiveness and Farjad’s unwavering protectiveness.

Our hearts were infused with warmth, seeing Umeed and Farjad’s tea sessions, knowing too well how Farjad would never drink tea before he met Umeed. Also, it was a visual delight to see Farjad’s attempt to patch up when things went south in the office with Umeed after he scolded her.

Needless to say, Farjad and Umeed are giving us couple goals!

The Dynamic Family Bonding

If the bond between Mimi and Farjad is not one of the reasons you would watch Fairy Tale 2, we don’t know what is. Mimi and Farjad emerge triumphant as one of the best on-screen sibling duos on our list. Their unwavering support to each other is worth applauding, especially when they face their mother’s scrutiny.

It’s a breath of fresh air to witness an unbreakable sibling bond on-screen which is usually substituted by sibling rivalry on-screen. Farjad’s stalwart backing, refusing to get Mimi married to her cousin when she does not want that, and the genuine respect for his sister alongside Mimi’s constant encouragement and support for Umeed and Farjad is worth appreciating.

The saga of evil mother-in-law and the satirical commentary

Saman Ansari as Nighat is commanding the screen in every episode. While her character is one of the main sources of conflict in the show, she is still winning hearts.

The satirical element added to the drama with the whole saas-bahu saga, and the over-the-top execution of Indian drama sequences has the audience in fits and is a source of several memes and discussions. Kudos to the writer and director for adding this interesting spin to the whole mother-in-law element, where instead of showing Nighat changing into an outright evil person, they have added a humor element to the entire narrative.

Secondly, the drama has presented the external struggle of mother-in-law who is ripped in between choosing to be a decent mother-in-law while trying to protect her son she is afraid of losing him. The internal struggles of a to be mother-in-law are well depicted, and will certainly be relatable to many, thus making Fairy Tale a must watch.

Authentic portrayal of pre-wedding family conflicts

Fairy Tale 2 is successfully tackling another social issue with subtlety, wrapped in humor, so that it is not too in your face. In the drama we get to see Pasha sahab (Umeed’s father) and Nighat (Farjad’s mother) having a conflict in deciding whether to have a small or extravagant ceremony. This kind of issue and other disagreements are quite prevalent when two families plan the wedding ceremony of their children.

The writer has done a brilliant job in integrating this plot into the drama without it feeling forced and yet putting the point across.

Unfolding of Haya and Sameer’s love story

The doctor and artist on-screen chemistry in winning our hearts. Haya and Sameer’s love story took an unexpected path with the opening of the second season, but we certainly aren’t complaining.

The progression of the storyline takes a captivating turn when Haya resolves to pursue a career in medicine. This narrative arc becomes even more intriguing as the young couple embarks on a journey to keep the spirit of their relationship alive amidst the backdrop of their completely different professions.

This relatable narrative would have struck a chord with numerous young couples in the audience, as the drama mirrors their own struggle in finding the right balance between relationship and career. This brings us to end of our list. Share with us your favourite element of the sequel of Fairy Tale. If you haven’t tune in yet, what are you waiting for?

Is Mayi Ri Celebrating Child Marriages Rather Than Condemning Them?

Mayi Ri couple

Pakistani serial “Mayi Ri” recently premiered on ARY Digital, aiming to highlight the issues and consequences of child marriage. Produced by Big Bang Entertainment, the drama is conceptualized by Sana Fahad. While the show aims to address the downsides of child marriages, fans are questioning whether it is condemning or celebrating the controversial practice.

Mixed Reactions on Social Media

Social media platforms are buzzing with discussions regarding the latest Pakistani drama. Pictures of the young actors in their wedding attire have surfaced online, creating an air of confusion around the intentions of the drama. Aina Asif, who portrays one of the lead characters and is only 14 years old, even posted a happy photo of herself donning a bridal dress.

Fans have taken notice of comments that seem to support the coupling of the young actors rather than voicing their opposition to child marriage. The growing fan sentiment is leaning towards shipping the young couple, which seems contradictory to the show’s purported objectives.

Responsibility of the Management Team

The power of good communication cannot be underestimated. A failure to do so may not only harm the drama’s intended message but also contribute to the wrong perception of the issue at hand.

In the case of dramas like “Mayi Ri”, it’s the responsibility of the management team to define clear parameters of communication for the actors involved to prevent any improper portrayal of the child couple.

Our Verdict: Let the Drama Unfold

“Mayi Ri” is still in its early stages, having recently premiered on ARY Digital. It is advisable for fans and critics alike to reserve their judgment until the overall narrative and message of the drama is better established.

Dramas often evolve significantly over time, rendering premature conclusions potentially misleading. The unfolding of the drama’s story and potential consequences faced by the child couple could, as intended, build a case against the practice of child marriage. As viewers, the responsibility to engage in a thoughtful and informed conversation around the issue rests upon us.

Only time will tell whether “Mayi Ri” will successfully condemn child marriages or inadvertently romanticize the practice. Until then, open-mindedness and patience are the keys to allowing the story to do its job – highlighting the socio-cultural issues that need our attention.

The History of Morning Shows in Pakistan

Morning shows in Pakistan

While we might be witnessing the obsession for morning shows in #JannatSeAagay nowadays, daily morning television shows have accompanied breakfast tables for decades in Pakistan.

Jannat Se Aagay is the latest drama by Umera Ahmed on Geo Entertainment that talks about desires, obsession, admiration, comparison, and the consequences of over idealizing. The story revolves around a middle-class college student who is obsessed with a morning show host for the glamour and sparkle that she lacks in her life.

Starting with Mustansar Hussain Tarar, who is known to be the pioneer of Morning shows during the PTV era, morning shows have come a long way. Kids of that time would cherish each episode of Mustansar Hussain Tarar’s show while getting ready for their schools and colleges.

Later with the rise of private television, morning shows got the hype back again. Several new and experienced television faces joined the bandwagon, but few shows are still remembered for their remarkable contributions in this domain.

Nadia Khan Show:

Nadia Khan hosed several seasons of Live Morning Shows for years on Geo from both UAE and Pakistan’s studios. It had number of interesting segments including one called ‘Happy 2 you’ which masses enjoyed the most back then. Nadia would celebrate birthdays of viewers and callers with a fun jingle which was a treat. Nadia begun morning shows in 2006 and she was active till the last year with PTV’s Morning@Home.

Marina Mornings:

Marina Mornings by Marina Khan is considered to be one of the most enlightening tv shows aired on Ary digital in its early days. Fun, entertaining, informative, and meaningful with each episode having a celebrity guest talking about their life and career. People used to love it for its simplicity as much as they loved watching their own ‘Dhoop Kinaray’ star every morning.

Kiran aur George:

This is the most pleasant memories of Pakistani Morning shows. A British Pakistani journalist George Fulton visited and explored Pakistan through Geo TV’s reality show ‘George ka Pakistan’. George then got settled with a Pakistani producer named Kiran. The couple got popular and started their own morning show on Aaj News titled ‘Kiran aur George’.

A Morning with Farah:

In 2006 Veteran actress Farah Sadia started a breakfast show on ATV which ran for years. Farah was the talk of the town for her marriage and divorce with director Iqbal Hussain, later she switched to A Plus with ‘Ek Nayi Subha with Farah’. Her show was among one of the most popular morning shows of that era.

Morning With Juggun:

Juggun Kazim was considered one of the liveliest morning show hosts of her time. Juggun started with A Plus and carried the show for years. Later she switched to PTV with Juggun@Home. Her PTV Home morning show had a successful run and was one of the most well-designed shows of all time.

Good morning Pakistan:

Shaista Lodhi started her career as a host for ARY Digital’s Good Morning Pakistan. Later she joined Geo TV in 2011 and Nida Yasir started conducting GMP. Nida is still associated with ARY and the same show so much so that the most popular and longest running Morning show is a household name known because Nida Yasir.

Utho Jaago Pakistan:

Geo TV’s 2011 morning show UJP was a breakthrough for Shaista Lodhi as a host.  The show was colourful, fun, entertaining, and controversial. This show introduced artificial marriages on morning shows which was followed by a great mishap on live show. The channel had to suffer a ban of a long time due to blasphemy allegations. Shaista apologized to the entire nation for this inconsiderate act and left the show after some time. Later Bushra Ansari joined the channel and revamped the show as ‘Utho Geo Pakistan’.

Muskurati Morning:

Faysal Quraishi did Muskurati Morning for years along with Ayesha Khalid on TV One. The show was later conducted by Sahir Lodhi when first Ayesha then Faysal left it. Although Sahir is now more of a radio person, but he was a household name known for Aap ka Sahir. Now Azfar Rehman is hosting TV One’s morning show and continuing the legacy.

Salaam Zindagi:

Faysal Quraishi joined Ary Zindagi and hosted Salaam Zindagi, one of the liveliest morning shows of all times. One still wants to see those episodes on YouTube. The show had a great run of almost 4 years. Tamasha 1’s Aadi Adeal Amjad and Tamasha 2’s Faizan Shaikh accompanied Faysal in Salaam Zindagi.

Jago Pakistan Jago:

Fahad Mustafa hosted Hum TV’s JPJ for some time but due to conflicts with the channel’s hierarchy he left. Later Sanam Jung made her mark with the show. Sanam became a household name for hosting the show with honesty, discussing her personal life, her domestic issues, and career.  Sanam left the show after her daughter Alaya was born as she wanted to focus on her personal life.

The Morning Show:

Sanam Baloch’s The Morning Show also had a good run on ARY News. This one was quite refreshing to be aired on a news channel. Due to personal reasons Sanam had to quit the show.

Subh e Pakistan:

Late Aamir Liaquat’s Subh e Pakistan too was an entertaining watch. Rare, do we see legends being acknowledged for their contributions. This show was largely about accurate info and career graphs of legendary actors, the highs and lows of television and current affairs. The show got appreciated even more when stars like Abida Parveen and Bollywood’s Raza Murad were called for interviews.

Sunrise From Istanbul:

A Turkey based Pakistani channel got launched a few years back, bringing Turkish culture to Pakistani television. The channel released several Turkish dramas and introduced several reality shows which were unique and entertaining on Pakistani television.

Maria Wasti hosted its morning show titled Sunrise from Istanbul which was the first show in Pakistan to be recorded on a cruise in the middle of sea. Each episode featured a celebrity being interviewed by Maria surrounded by pleasant scenery and feel-good music.

Just like dramas and films, Pakistan has a versatile history in the genre of morning shows too. We invested in this territory our heart and soul so that the high entertainment quotient can be maintained right from the beginning of the day. Which of these popular morning shows was your favorite? So, once again to promote her upcoming project, the star took to Twitter and held yet another #AskMahira session to engage with fans and answer questions. Fans were ecstatic to get a chance to speak to her and took the opportunity to send her their love.

From updates on more projects in the future and her thoughts on her Roundtable Series with other stars, here’s some of the conversations from this session.

Updates on Upcoming Projects

Many fans were eager to ask the Bin Roye star about what was next for her since she was last seen alongside Fawad Khan in the box office phenomenon The Legend of Maula Jatt almost a year ago.

So, when asked about why she wasn’t doing more dramas, Khan revealed that she is currently working on a film with a show planned for next year.

This is surely exciting news for fans who were dying to see her in a film again.

Many jumped to the opportunity to ask her about her upcoming film Neelofar which will see the return of her and Fawad Khan together again on the big screen. To that Mahira said that it was out of her hands and that she could only pray for it to be released soon.

One cheeky individual asked when she’ll put her producer hat back on and produce an epic love story which the star found amusing and asked for lead pair ideas.

Mashion

Mashion is Mahira’s entertainment platform and fashion brand. Recently, the star began hosting her own Roundtable Series featuring actors, models and influencers sitting together to have a conversation.

One fan had a lot of praise for the new series. To which Mahira responded and shared how it was a huge task to get all these amazing women in one room and that they hope to get better with time.

Thoughts on Mini-Series

When asked about her thoughts on the mini-series format and which was more appealing to her, Khan said she likes it. She also feels that a story need not be dragged out just for the sake of it and it should be up to the writer to decide what’s best for the story. We couldn’t agree more Mahira.

Twitter Name Change

Twitter’s name was recently changed to X, something that has been a point of contention on the platform. So, when Khan was asked about Twitter, she had quite the pun-filled response.

On a more serious note, she added that the platform currently feels like a sad place, with nothing but tragic stories from all over Pakistan for us to witness. Khan often takes to Twitter to address such stories and often brings light to them through her work. We wish Mahira all the best for her upcoming projects, and we cannot wait to see what she has cooking for later.

Their journey embarks from a whirlwind romance that blossoms into marriage. An Upcoming Dry Spell: The Pakistani Film Industry Braces for a Drought

Pakistani film drought

Over the past few years, the Pakistani film industry has undergone a process akin to a desert bloom, sprouting a series of local blockbusters that enjoyed considerable success. Yet, the industry now faces a parched landscape.

A drought looms large on the horizon, with no significant releases marketed for the upcoming months. Far from being unexpected, this drought of Pakistani films is a result of multiple converging factors, their effects amplified by the current socio-economic factors plaguing the nation.

The once flourishing filmmaking scene is now caught in a predicament that demands a prompt and thoughtful response.

The Declining Economic Standards

Firstly, with living costs reaching an all-time high, the enduring economic crisis has left the average Pakistani citizen with little room for luxury expenses such as cinema visits. Consequently, releasing films under current conditions might not fetch expected revenues, leading producers to hold back their projects.

Producers’ Falling Trust in Film Returns

Moreover, the dipping trust of producers in the film industry further augments this dilemma. The significant monetary risk involved with filmmaking, coupled with the current economic instability, discourages producers from investing in big-screen projects.

Congested Festive Season Releases

The recent habit of releasing multiple movies simultaneously during festive seasons is yet another contributing factor. This recent Bakra Eid alone, 6 major local movies were released, flooding the local cinemas. The films included ‘Babylicious’, ‘Teri Meri Kahaniyaan’, ‘VIP’, ‘Taxali’, ‘Madaari’, and ‘Allahyar and 100 flowers of God’. While this surge in options might bring joy to cinema-goers, it eventually leads to a film drought for the months that follow.

Preference of Young Actors for Television

The dearth of young talent venturing into cinema effectively worsens the issue. Many rising stars, including Khushhal Khan and Hamza Sohail, prefer dramas and television content over film entries. This trend deprives the industry of fresh faces capable of sparking further interest in local cinema.

The Movie Revival Dream

Despite the pressing concerns, it’s important to remember that the Pakistani film industry had been showing signs of a promising revival. The revival needs to be sustained and nurtured in order to thrive.

Efforts can be made on three main fronts:

Economical movie options: Filmmakers can experiment with lower-budget films that can be released through digital platforms. Deals can also be reached with cinemas to offer budget films.

Staggered releases: Instead of clustering the releases during festive seasons, the films can be released in a planned and staggered manner to avoid overwhelming the audience and to avoid dry spells after.

Talent nurturing: Artists should be encouraged and incentivized to venture into the film industry. The platform could be made lucrative by addressing the concerns of young actors.

The Pakistani film industry, with its unique storytelling and talented artists, has immense potential. These challenging times call for resilient measures to keep the revival dream alive. A uniform strategy, with cooperative efforts from filmmakers, actors, and the audience, might just be the key to pulling the industry out of the impending drought.

Alizeh Shah: A Beacon of Talent in Need of Serious Rehabilitation

Alizeh Shah

Alizeh Shah has quickly become a household name in Pakistan’s thriving entertainment scene. With her first major breakthrough as Dua in the hit TV drama, Ehd-e-Wafa (2019), Alizeh quickly captivated the hearts of millions.

Her impressive performances in Hoor Pari (2019), Jo Tu Chahay (2019), Mera Dil Mera Dushman (2020), and Tanaa Banaa (2021) further cemented her place as one of Pakistan’s most promising young talents.

However, even the most radiant stars can struggle with the pressures of fame and success. As recent events have surfaced, it is crucial that we, as her fans and well-wishers, come together in support and understanding of her need for rehabilitation. By addressing these challenges, Alizeh can continue to thrive in her already remarkable career.

The Dark Side of Stardom

Unfortunately, this meteoric rise to fame hasn’t been without its pitfalls. Just yesterday on the 15th of August, actress Minsa Malik filed an official complaint against Alizeh, accusing her of physical abuse on set during the shooting of their drama, Muhabbat ki Akhri Kahani. Minsa alleges that Alizeh threw a burning joint at her and hit her with her slippers inside a room. This incident comes on the heels of an earlier FIR filed against Alizeh by Eveready Pictures for disruptions on set.

These events point to a pattern of concerning behavior, potentially stemming from an unresolved addiction. Alizeh was previously seen rolling a joint in a car with friends, and her recent physical appearance has led some to speculate about her well-being. The actress has lost a significant amount of weight and appears to be battling the darker side of fame.

The Path to Recovery

For Alizeh, the key to reclaiming her professional success and preserving her reputation lies in addressing her addiction head-on. Rehab offers a necessary opportunity for her to attain sobriety, learn healthy coping mechanisms, and heal from the pressures of stardom. With a combination of professional support and personal accountability, Alizeh has the potential to bounce back stronger than ever.

The Importance of Compassion

As fans, friends, and colleagues of Alizeh Shah, we must rally around her in these trying times, offering our empathy, support, and understanding. Addiction is a complex issue that requires patience, persistence, and care. A compassionate and non-judgmental approach can make all the difference in Alizeh’s journey to recovery.

A Bright Future Awaits

Alizeh Shah is undeniably talented, and her passion for acting has the potential to propel her to even greater heights. However, she must first confront the obstacles standing in her way. By admitting herself to rehab, Alizeh can regain control over her life and return to doing what she loves.

With renewed clarity and health, there’s no doubt that Alizeh will once again grace our screens with her charisma and undeniable skill, reminding us all of the shining star she was always meant to be.

Kinza Hashmi and Karan Wahi entice the audience with a compelling screen presence:

Amanninder Singh, the director, skilfully captures an alluring tale of love set amidst Dubai’s sand dunes. The opening scene paints a vivid picture of a bustling bazaar adorned with an array of colourful and lively products, hinting at an exciting cinematic experience to come.

Transitioning to the next scene, Kinza Hashmi graces the screen in an elegant cream-colored shalwar kameez, her trademark loose curls framing her look. Karan Wahi joins the frame, exuding a commanding presence in a brown shalwar kameez. Despite it being their first-ever collaboration, Kinza and Karan effortlessly step into their roles, perfectly complimenting each other’s energy.

Both the actors’ expressions were on point throughout the music video, and they were brilliantly able to execute the pain and emotion of two individuals in love. The sizzling chemistry was captured well by the director and the music video became more enticing to watch as the narrative unfolded, eventually heading towards the climax.

Fan reaction:

Fans were left enchanted after watching the music video and praised the chemistry shared on-screen by Kinza and Karan.

About Project 91:

Project 91 is a global music project, launched in Dubai. They plan on releasing 91 songs in the next 2-3 years. The project aims to unite global stars from different countries to push a unified narrative for art and music.

Undoubtedly, projects like these serve as a testament to the boundless realms of creativity that can be achieved when artists from different horizons unite. Stifling the progress of art only results in harm to all involved. It is our fervent hope to see such pioneering collaborations in the future that propel artistic expression.

“Jannat se Aagay” – A Unique Story Where Reality Meets Drama

Jannat se aagay first episode

Geo Tv’s most recent offering, “Jannat se Aagay” has hooked the audience in its first two episodes, owing to its unique plot – a story revolving around morning shows and the impact they have on the masses.

With regards to production benchmarks, 7th Sky never fails to offer something that is larger than life. “Jannat se Agay” is a prime example of this; the cinematic traits, locations, costumes, make-up, wardrobe, and even the set design of a morning show – which is featured in the story, keeps you hooked.

Besides this, the captain of the ship – director Haseeb Hassan, deserves applause for executing the story masterfully, as even the minute details and idiosyncrasies in the scenes contribute towards audience’s intrigue and curiosity as to what’s going to happen next.

Although we can’t judge the book by merely reading a few pages, it seems like a roller coaster ride full of lessons is in store for us. The story not only reflects the harsh reality of media industry but also incorporates varying emotions of love, guilt and power.

The plot: Jannat Ali Khan – A Beguiling host!

Jannat Ali Khan, a popular morning show host – played by Kubra Khan is a woman willing to cross any limit in order to maintain the TRPs of her show named Jannat e Jahan. Not to mention, Jannat – as a host, knows every trick to make the audiences believe and look up to her as a “messiah”.

The story provides an interesting insight into morning show culture where fancy hosts in their designer outfits take center-stage and aren’t shy to blatantly talk about anything and everything as long as it amps up their ratings, all while being indifferent and insensitive towards the nature of the topic, issue and the resulting repercussions.

Jannat Ali Khan is one such host. Utilizing her way with words, compelling aura, alluring personality and seemingly empathetic tone, she makes the audience believe that whatever she says is right, and this very quality of securing high ratings by her content makes her popular among the viewers and a threat for her competitors.

Tabassum Mughal – played by Ramsha Khan is one viewer of Jannat’s show. Tabassum – a college student from a middle-class background, makes sure to watch her favorite host Jannat on television regardless of whether she has an exam or has to attend a neighborhood wedding.

Jannat influenced her mind in a way that she can leave her home just to catch a glimpse of her ideal, she even requests her fiancé, Farooq – played by Talha Chahour to buy her a ticket as a birthday gift so she can attend Jannat’s morning show.

Although, Ramsha doesn’t look like a college student, she pulls off the character so well, especially when she watches the show with her mother and sister and gets completely involved in it. However, in one of the scenes when she sees Jannat, holding a python (snake) around her neck, makes her overwhelmed, the way she reacts over it felt ‘too much to absorb’.

Talha Chahour as Farooq in “Jannat Se Aagay” – A praiseworthy performance

Talha Chahour is fast becoming a household name in Pakistan. Everyone knows his commitment to the craft ever since ‘Jo Bichar Gaye’ and ‘Wabaal’ came out. However, Farooq in “Jannat se Aagay” is someone who makes you happy by his affection towards his fiancé Tabassum, especially when in one of the college scenes he compliments her for looking like Jannat.

Fighting with his luck – Farooq is unemployed and is looking for a job. Despite his adverse circumstances he’s ready to do anything that brings a smile on Tabassum’s face. The duo looks adorable on screen, as their energy and chemistry complement each other.  Also, Farooq’s way of dealing with everyday life gives the audience an insight of a common man’s issues.

Jannat Se Aagay Shows Emotional Yet Bold Scenes

It’s shocking yet astonishing at the same time that the television screen is showing a story which portrays the dark side of media industry. A scene where Jannat interviews a rape victim and asks her inappropriate and insensitive questions, sheds light on media’s quest for ratings even at the cost of insensitivity and absolute disregard for human emotions.

In the relevant scene, Jannat insensitive attitude towards the victim causes the latter to break down and burst into tears on screen, therefore jacking up the shows’ ratings and boosting Jannat’s ego along the way, something Jannat intended to achieve from the get go.

Besides the star-studded cast, impressive production and powerful storyline, the OST – as usual plays its role in making the story even more captivating for the audience. Qurat-ul-Ain Baloch’s melodious and mesmerizing voice moves the audience and makes them a bigger part of the story.

Jannat se Aagay seems like a good combo of plot, script and actors. We wish the whole team good luck and hope that the story will move in the same pace and end on a note making a permanent mark on audience and be remembered as a ‘worthwhile’ watch.
