Ishq Murshid: Bilal Abbas Khan Crafting Chemistry And Stellar Acting As Fazal Bakhsh

Hum TV’s ‘Ishq Murshid,’ helmed by the brilliant Farooq Rind, produced by MD Productions and written by Abdul Khaliq Khan, ventures into the realms of fantasy, seemingly detached from real-life intricacies. Yet, against the odds, it has managed to find a place in the audience’s hearts. A considerable chunk of credit goes to Bilal Abbas Khan, whose phenomenal performance stands out as a driving force behind the show’s success. In a world of its own, ‘Ishq Murshid’ thrives, and Bilal’s charisma is a key player in this captivating tale.

The ‘Dobara‘ actor pulled off a double act, stepping into the shoes of Sikander Bakhsh – the politician’s son, and Fazal Bakhsh – just your everyday guy. But here’s the kicker – Shahmir Sikandar, born into a political dynasty, is somehow flying under the radar. A tad far-fetched, right? Well, it’s fiction, not a documentary.

So, let go of reality, and give a round of applause to our hero. He not only embraced the charm of Fazal Bakhsh but had us all hooked. Here are the reasons why Mr Fazal is undeniably a mood.

Fazal Drops Truth Bombs on Voting: Educate, Empower, Elect!

In the latest episode, we spotted Fazal and Shibra – played by Durr e Fishan Saleem, deep in conversation. Our dude dropped some truth bombs about how education plays a role in picking the right leaders. Fazal chimed in, pointing out that the lack of education and awareness is why some leaders treat the public like their personal servants.

As we gear up for the upcoming elections, Fazal’s words hit home. The electoral process is just around the corner, and his insight serves as a reminder for all of us. It’s not just about casting a vote; it’s about making an informed choice. So, let’s keep Fazal’s tip in mind when we hit the polls.

Fazal’s Heartfelt Gestures: From 5 Rupee Onions to Pizza Bliss

In the tale of Fazal’s love for Shibra, the man is on a mission to keep his girl beaming. Some scenes unfold his unique ways—like when Shibra wants budget-friendly veggies, our boy pulls off a miracle, scoring a kilo of onions for a mere 5 rupees. Yes, you read that right!

What’s the catch? Fazal hides his influential identity, proving that love trumps everything. But that’s not all. Picture this: Shibra surprises him with a pizza, and Fazal’s joy is contagious. In a heartwarming moment, he urges her to keep smiling, appreciating her beauty, said: “Muskurati Raha Karo Achi Lagti Ho Ticket Laga Ke Na Rakha Karo Muskurahat Pay, Khushyan Naraz Hojati Hain”.

Fazal Bakhsh’s Playbook: Winning Shibra’s Heart with Quirky Moves

Our boy Fazal knows how to keep things interesting, especially when it comes to catching Shibra’s attention. Whether it’s faking an eye injury or spinning tales about an imaginary girlfriend, Fazal, the master of simplicity, has Shibra hanging on to his every word.

Picture this: Fazal concocts a story about his eyes hurting. Enter Shibra with her magical cure— a breezy blow to his eyes. It’s a small gesture, but it screams care and concern, making Fazal’s heart do a little happy dance.

As Shibra exits the room, our boy can’t contain his grin. It’s a victory smile as if he just clinched a medal in the game of love. Fazal, you sly charmer.

Fazal’s Charm & Sikandar’s Groove: Winning Hearts in Different Beats

While Fazal effortlessly lands a spot in every girl’s good book with his endearing ways, let’s take a moment to appreciate Mr. Sikandar. This guy not only steals the spotlight but also busts out some killer dance moves, proving that love can make you do just about anything.

Sure, some folks on social media are getting ‘Ghajini’ vibes, but the love story? It’s the real deal, worth every watch. Bilal Abbas Khan, take a bow, your extraordinary performance has truly left us smitten.

What Makes Green Entertainment’s Upcoming Drama ‘Pagal Khana’ Different?

In a literal storytelling revolution, ‘Green Entertainment’ is moulding the narrative landscape, breathing new life into characters and infusing their tales with entirely fresh meanings. With nearly a dozen teasers and an eye-catching trailer that leaves you intrigued, ‘Pagal Khana’ left no crumbs when it comes to capturing the audience’s attention.

Hinting at a spectacular production and masterful writing. The storyline promises to redefine romance, offering an enticing blend of betrayal, suspense, intrigue, and passion. Produced under the banner of Multiverse Entertainment, this drama unfolds its enrapturing storyline under the vision of Iqbal Hussain, who serves as both the writer and director.

Into the ‘Elevens Club’: Introducing the characters

What adds an extra layer of excitement to the drama is the meticulous effort put in by the team to craft an entirely new world for the audience. The ‘Elevens Club’ presents itself from the outside as a luxurious abode, boasting all imaginable facilities. Yet, the truth remains, that outside its magnificent exterior, it is, in fact, a mental institution. Within these walls reside individuals, each harboring their own unique stories and internal battles, as they navigate the challenges of living with mental disorders.

Amidst these intricate tales is Saba Qamar, a resident of the house, hopelessly consumed by her love for Salman Dawar, played by Sami Khan. There we could not help but think, is Salman Dawar the reason that led her to a mental facility, or is her affection for Salman Dawar her refuge within the confines of the ‘Elevens Club,’ a sanctuary where she shields herself from the outside world? Brace yourselves as ‘Pagal Khana’ unwraps these mysteries.

We also see Mashal Khan, essaying the character of Tina in the drama, who introduces herself as an actress and model. Confidant and bubbly, Tina seems to have a lively soul. We also see scenes where she is flirting with Syed Jibran’s character. In another scene we see her sitting outside the ‘Elevens Club’, completely dejected, showcasing her unmasked side.

Syed Jibran is also part of this ensemble cast with a complex character. The teaser depicts him talking to the mirror in a few instances where he says, “Batadi usi tu kon ho” [Tell her who you are]. His character is portrayed as such that he is composed when in public and fury takes over with internal rage when he is alone. There is a shroud of mystery surrounding Syed Jibran’s character and it seems that the actor has signed up for something complex and challenging to play.

In the centre of the storyline is the character of Taimoor, played by Omair Rana. Once again there is a layer of mystery surrounding his character. From the looks of it, the actor will be one of the caretakers or in charge of the mental asylum.

The teasers also introduce us to other characters in bits and pieces, giving us a glimpse of what to expect. We also saw Momal Sheikh, Sonia Mishal, and Adnan Shah Tipu in the teasers. Faiza Gillani will also be a part of this ensemble cast.

‘Pagal Khana’ is a story of an unheard section of our society

One of the teasers had a pivotal dialogue that highlighted that the patients aren’t insane and are just unwell mentally. The dialogue underscores a pivotal dilemma that plagues our society. What makes the drama stand apart from the crowd is of course a novel storyline with complex characters from the perspective of those who are mentally disturbed.

There are also layers of suspense in the drama as Sami Khan seems to play a grey character. From the teasers, it’s not evident whether he is in love with Saba Qamar’s character and has genuine feelings for her or is in love with the idea of someone being this affectionate towards him. This is going to be an interesting part of the plot, which we eagerly await to see.

We are also expecting that the drama will unravel a love triangle between the characters of Momal Sheikh, Mashal Khan, and Syed Jibran. This drama unfolds in a way that diverges from the typical love triangles we’re accustomed to. The teasers and trailers paint a captivating picture, injecting a sense of intrigue with every scene. Expect an atmosphere of creepiness, a touch of darkness, unabashed love, and a rollercoaster of twists, making this series stand out.

All in all, ‘Pagal Khana’ looks to be among one of the most promising releases of this year. The drama premiers on Green Entertainment on 29th January.

Is The Missing Conclusion In ’22 Qadam’ A Hint Towards A Second Season?

As the final curtain falls on ‘22 Qadam’ the audience is left on an emotional pendulum swing. Being one of Green Entertainment’s pioneering offerings, this drama is probably one of their lengthiest productions to date, with the drama exceeding more than thirty episodes.

Written by Zeeshan Ilyas and brought to life under the direction of Anjum Shahzad, ‘22 Qadam’ effortlessly seized the audience’s attention. As it combined the nation’s raw passion for cricket with the charm of Wahaj Ali, the current heartthrob, it became an irresistible watch. But as the drama reaches its conclusion the burning question remains: Has the fervour and adoration from the audience endured over these past few months, or has it transformed with the conclusion of this cricket-infused saga?

The highs and lows of the last episode

Truth be told, the last episode left us hanging, craving for more yet elated as we witnessed the drama gracefully steering toward a joyous conclusion.

The adrenaline rush was palpable throughout the episode as Fari, portrayed by Hareem Farooq, gave her all during the match, a pivotal moment that held the fate of the characters hanging in the balance. The cricket scene, which was masterfully shot, evoked an excitement similar to a Pakistan vs. India match, though we were quite confident here that our protagonist while sweep the trophy. The well-executed scene coupled with the soundtrack, sung by Zain Fatima, added an extra layer of intensity to the moment.

As Liza, played by Dur e Nayab, stepped in with her injury, the tension soared. The narrative unfolded with Fari striving to save the day through powerful sixes, only to face setbacks. Then enters Liza, overcoming her own challenges, leading to a triumphant moment as the pair guides the team to victory.

The victory shot was a highlight, capturing Hareem’s expressions that ranged from disbelief and shock to the realization of her triumph, intertwined with the nostalgia of her father’s words urging her to pursue her dreams. Her subsequent prostration, expressing gratitude to God, was a much-needed scene that encapsulated the culmination of more than thirty episodes of anticipation.

The raw, unfiltered moments of the team’s happiness after the victory, devoid of excessive makeup and perfect blow-dry hair, resonated as a perfect representation of women after an intense match. The scene where the entire team walked out of the cricket ground together underscored unity among females and reiterated that this wasn’t just Fari’s victory, but it was a moment of triumph for all women who are striving towards their goals.

In a final glimpse, we catch Fari arriving at the field to play for Pakistan against Sri Lanka, hinting at her international career and introducing a new arena for her battles. The beautifully orchestrated scenes leave us eager for what lies ahead, extending the legacy of ‘22 Qadam’ beyond its gripping conclusion.

By this point, you might be wondering, ‘Where is Junaid?’ Herein lies the most significant flaw of the last episode i.e. how it deprived the audience of witnessing Wahaj Ali on screen as Junaid and denied us a proper conclusion to Junaid’s story. As viewers, we could only wish for a gradual and triumphant recovery for Junaid, envisioning him reclaiming his place in the game and eventually playing on the international stage. The absence of closure left fans yearning for more.

However, in those fleeting seconds of screen time, Wahaj Ali once again left an indelible mark. The power of eye contact spoke volumes as Fari and Junaid locked eyes, and Junaid exuded pride. No dialogue was needed as Wahaj won us over with his expressions, showcasing the art of acting with his eyes. While the lack of a conclusion to Junaid’s storyline left us disappointed, Wahaj once again won us over.

That being said, our craving for Fari and Junaid’s love story to reach a satisfying conclusion left us wanting for more than just fleeting eye-contact scenes. This left us thinking that could the absence of a resolution in their love story and Junaid’s plot be a subtle hint towards a second season. Are we right to anticipate a sequel where we witness the union of these two characters navigating both their personal lives and conquering the cricket world? The lingering questions only intensify our curiosity about what might unfold in a potential second season.

Messages of women empowerment, mental health, and a relentless pursuit to fulfil your dreams

From the outset, the drama set itself apart by embedding powerful messages and raising awareness about social issues. While it navigated through an array of societal challenges with considerable success, there were moments, particularly in the beginning, where it momentarily lost its way with some excessively melodramatic scenes, notably during Fari’s sister’s quest for matrimony.

The narrative skillfully unfolded Fari’s journey, portraying her resilience in pursuing cricket despite external challenges and internal battles convincing her parents and challenging societal norms. Amber, portrayed by Kinza Razzak, emerged as another beacon of strength, battling domestic violence and getting out of an abusive marriage. The drama’s depiction of women empowerment was commendably great, with both the protagonist and supporting characters finding their voices and establishing themselves.

In addition, the integration of mental health and suicidal thoughts into Junaid’s character was thoughtfully executed. His struggle following an accident, coupled with the jeopardy of his career due to injury, shed light on the pressing issues surrounding mental health. This multifaceted approach to storytelling ensured that ’22 Qadam’ not only entertained but also served as a powerful medium for societal reflection and discussion.

In the middle, the drama deviated a bit with some excessive melodramatic scenes, particularly during the initial focus on Amber’s marriage proposals and then Fari’s father getting sick. Despite these moments, the drama successfully resumed its impactful exploration of social issues, weaving layers of diverse narratives that added depth to the storyline.

Wahaj Ali and Hareem Farooq’s chemistry

Initially, as ‘22 Qadam’ was gearing up for its launch, ‘Tere Bin’ held the spotlight with Wahaj Ali and Yumna Zaidi’s captivating chemistry, leaving audiences enthralled. The looming question was whether Wahaj and Hareem Farooq could recreate that magical presence.

Despite the absence of immediate fireworks, the characters of Fari and Junaid gradually and steadily won our hearts. Wahaj and Hareem, portraying these roles, forged a connection that resonated with the audience, making us root for their on-screen chemistry.

What set their chemistry apart was its foundation in the plot. Their relationship was crafted on the pillars of mutual trust, respect, and admiration, underscored by their shared passion for cricket. As their characters went through emotional journeys and encountered personal challenges, we witnessed not only the actors’ chemistry but also their deep admiration and respect for the roles they portrayed. This on-screen casting and relationship proved to be a delightful and engaging aspect that kept us eagerly watching.

The Cast

Alongside the lead protagonists, the drama had an exciting lineup of a talented cast, featuring Kinza Razzak, Aleena Abbas, Muhammad Usman Malik, Nida Mumtaz, Saleem Miraj, Dur e Nayab, Muhammad Abdullah Zaman. The drama also included cameo appearances from Sana Mir and Shoaib Akhtar.

Here it is worth mentioning that Kinza Razzak as Amer Akhtar, Aleena Abbas as Naz Kiryana, and Dur e Nayab as Liza were a few new faces that we saw in the drama who left us impressed with their performance. We do hope to see them soon in new projects.

Was ’22 Qadam’ worth the hype?

Produced by Hareem Farooq and Imran Raza Kazmi under the banner of IRK Films, ’22 Qadam’ proved to be the perfect marketing material, offering a promising cricket story with Wahaj Ali and Hareem Farooq at the forefront. While the drama had its share of highs and lows, with moments feeling overly melodramatic and stretched, it ultimately delivered a substantial and novel plot.

What elevated the drama to greater heights was the collaboration of casting, direction, and writing. This triumphant teamwork didn’t just make the story entertaining but injected it with powerful messages. It ensured that the audience, beyond being engaged, was also taught powerful messages by the unfolding plot. ’22 Qadam’ went on to be not just a TV drama but also as a commendable fusion of drama, sports, and social issues, making it a standout attempt.

Shoaib Malik And Sana Javed Bowl Us Over With A Surprise Wedding

In a move that left us all as stunned as a well-bowled googly, the Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik and actor Sana Javed announced their marriage, raising eyebrows amid ongoing rumours about their separation from former partners.

The duo shared pictures on their social media, adorned in wedding attire, instantly captivating the attention of netizens and sending shockwaves through social media. Oh, but that’s not all – Sana quickly hit the digital update button, transforming into Sana Shoaib Malik faster than you can say “surprise wedding of the year.”

Their love story

Rumours had been doing the cha-cha since Shoaib Malik and Sana Javed first appeared together on Fahad Mustafa’s show ‘Jeeto Pakistan’.

Their friendship was noticed by many. Following, Shoaib posted a picture of him and Sana in March 2023, captioned “Happy Birthday Buddy”.

An old clip featuring Waseem Badami and Shaista Lodhi on Ahsan Khan’s show is now making rounds. Badami hinted at something brewing during the ‘Jeeto Pakistan’ filming. He said that he is getting a lot of news that Shoaib has probably won hearts from Jeeto Pakistan and he is hearing rumours. Shaista, who is a close friend of Shoaib, defended him saying Sania Mirza to not overthink these allegations and that he’s just making things up to create issues in his marriage.

Following the announcement, Fahad Mustafa took to his Instagram story to extend his congratulations to the newlyweds, emphasizing that “Happiness is all that matters.”

Now, let’s rewind a bit. Back in 2022, Shoaib Malik stood in defence of Sana Javed, countering allegations of her ‘diva’ behaviour by attesting to her kindness and courtesy.

Shoaib Malik’s marriage timeline

The cricket veteran, has now been married three times. His first marriage to Ayesha Siddiqui garnered media attention. He was in a relationship with her, as both used to talk online in 2002. The couple went through a Nikkah on call but Shoaib initially did not acknowledge the wedding when Ayesha went public with their marriage as he was marrying Sania, but it was confirmed that he divorced Ayesha legally.

His second marriage to Sania Mirza in 2010, endured for years. They were also blessed with a son, named Izhaan in 2018.

The rumour mill has been abuzz with speculations about the former couple’s divorce for nearly two years. Despite the prolonged silence from both Shoaib and Sania on the divorce front, a recent social media post by the tennis player has fueled the ongoing rumours.

In a reposted note, Mirza shared thoughts that ignited fresh speculation: “Marriage is hard. Divorce is hard. Choose your hard. Obesity is hard. Being fit is hard. Choose your hard. Being in debt is hard. Being financially disciplined is hard. Choose your hard. Communication is hard. Not communicating is hard. Choose your hard.” This indirect post from Mirza has once again sparked discussions about potential challenges in her and Shoaib’s relationship.

Confirming the situation, Shoaib’s family stated that Malik opted for khula from the cricketer.

Shoaib’s third marriage to Javed has left both Pakistani and Indian communities in shock.

Sana Javed’s former wedding

Sukoon‘ actor, Sana Javed, had a prior marriage with singer Umair Jaswal in 2020. Rumours of their separation hit the social media stands when their pictures went MIA from their social media last year. However, there was no confirmation from both the artists.

Reaction

The unexpected union of Shoaib Malik and Sana Javed has social media buzzing like a stadium during a thrilling match. Fans are throwing around phrases like “plot twist of the year” and “unexpected union goals.” Netizens are sympathising with Sania over this sudden news.

Umair Jaswal, who is currently in Madinah, has been bombarded by support from his fans on his social media, with several telling him to stay strong.

Some also took a dig at the entire situation.

The unexpected announcement has captivated the masses, however, in the spirit of understanding that personal journeys are, indeed, personal, we extend our best wishes to Shoaib Malik, Sana Javed, Sania Mirza and Umair Jaswal.

PCB Cancels Ali Zafar’s PSL Anthem Over Meesha Shafi Allegations?

The 9th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is about to kick off next month. The domestic T20 cricket league has been a highly anticipated event for all Pakistanis every year ever since it started in 2016.

The event always sees a bunch of new and exciting brand deals, anthems and celebrity partnerships. One of these frequent collaborators is superstar Ali Zafar. Zafar has worked on both the individual team anthems and the official anthems for the league in the past.

The ‘Channo’ singer was all set to debut his official anthem for the 2024 9th edition of PSL when the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided to remove him from the anthem. The reason for this seems to be the sexual harassment allegations made against Zafar by singer Meesha Shafi in 2018. Here’s what went down.

2024 PSL Anthem

With the 2024 PSL about to kick off, superstar Ali Zafar was also set to debut his latest official anthem for the event. The news broke out two months ago that he would be working on the official anthem of the upcoming sports event.

This was met with utter delight from fans due to Zafar’s tremendous track record with sports anthems in the past. So, when it was announced that the singer was being removed from the anthem, the news took social media by storm and left everyone scratching their heads.

The singer told Dawn that he was officially contacted by the PCB to create the PSL anthem for this year.

“After working on it for two months, hiring musicians and music producers at my personal expense, I came up with three different versions of the anthem for the PCB to choose from. After one of them was finalised and the release was being planned, I was informed by the PCB that I could not go ahead with the anthem for reasons that I would not like to disclose at this point.”

This led to intense speculation both from fans and the media, many concluding that Zafar’s removal had something to do with the allegations made against him by Meesha Shafi.

The sexual harassment allegations, made by Meesha Shafi in 2018, materialized into several court cases in the last few years. Both stars have been embroiled in controversies ever since, which have also affected both their respective careers.

Zafar, despite maintaining his claims of innocence, has been fighting legal battles due to this case. The defamation lawsuits took a toll on his and Shafi’s personal and professional lives. So, it’s not too surprising to see a huge brand such as PSL wanting to distance itself from a controversial figure.

It is worth noting again that Zafar is no newcomer to sports anthems. The ‘Jhoom’ singer has also had a successful working relationship with PCB in the past and has worked on PSL since its inception.

Here’s a timeline of Ali Zafar’s work on PSL in the past.

2015

‘Ab Khel Ke Dikha’ the official anthem of PSL’s debut season.

2016

‘Chakka Choka’ the theme song of PSL team Islamabad United.

2017

‘Ab Khel Jamay Ga’ the official anthem of 2017 PSL.

2018

‘Dil Se Jaan Laga De’ the official anthem of 2018 PSL.

While Ali Zafar has produced several unofficial anthems since then, it is also worth noting that his last official collaboration was prior to the allegations made against him. So, when looked that way, it doesn’t come as a total surprise that the brand is still reluctant to work with him.

However, it’s highly unethical that Zafar was given the approval to work on the anthem before ultimately being removed from it.

A new singer is yet to be announced for the anthem, which is surely going to cause another uproar when it does happen. PCB has yet to make any comments on this issue. Hopefully, all parties involved can walk away with dignity. Stay tuned to Galaxy Lollywood for any further updates.

4 Dramas We Wish Would See Their Curtains Fall Soon

In an age where speed is king, from the rapid swipe of a food delivery app to the swift summoning of a ride, consumers crave instantaneous satisfaction. Audiences demand the same rhythm from dramas on our television screens.

We present you with a list of 4 current on-air dramas that have not only captured the audience’s attention but are also acing the ratings game. However, amidst the unexpected twists, dramatic turns, and awe-worthy moments in the drama we find ourselves at a crossroads. While these shows continue to dominate the airwaves, it’s our humble opinion that, after scaling dizzying heights of suspense and reaching pivotal plot developments, there might not be much left to add.

Mein

Produced by Big Bang Entertainment, ‘Mein’ sparked a massive interest even before the release of the first episode, owing to its star-studded cast with Wahaj Ali and Ayeza Khan as the lead pair. With twenty-seven episodes in, the drama continues to keep the audience hooked as viewers tune in every week to watch what trick Mubashira Jaffar will play next to win Zaid over.

Directed by Badar Mehmood and penned by Zanjabeel Asim Shah, ‘Mein’ continues to captivate its audience. However, the plot now appears to be stretched thin with the ongoing battle between the two wives vying for Zaid’s affection. We believe it’s in the best interest of the drama to conclude on a high note rather than risking a decline in audience interest due to prolonged dragging. As the stakes rise, it’s crucial to strike the right balance between keeping viewers engaged and delivering a satisfying resolution.

Adawat

Directed by Syed Jari Khushnood Naqvi, the drama serial ‘Adawat’ centers around jealousy and revenge and the aftermath of such evil intentions. The drama has managed to curate a loyal fanbase that anticipates the next plot twist. The ensemble cast including Fatima Effendi, Saad Qureshi, Shazeal Shoukat, and Syed Jibran is a cherry on top, which binds the viewers to tune in.

As viewers manifest to see Fahad and Maria coming together, there’s a collective hope that the drama reaches its conclusion soon. The storyline is teetering on the brink of becoming caricatured and potentially annoying to the audience, who currently relish the unfolding drama. Striking a balance between keeping the audience engaged and delivering a satisfying resolution is crucial to ensure continued enjoyment of the narrative.

Sukoon

Starring Sana Javed and Ahsan Khan in leading roles, supported by a talented ensemble including Khaqan Shahnawaz, Sidra Niazi, Atiqa Odho, Usman Peerzada, Laila Wasti, and Nida Mumtaz, ‘Sukoon’ unfolds as a romantic drama with a captivating love triangle. The drama’s original soundtrack, sung by Hassan and Roshaan, adds a melodic touch, offering the audience a binge-worthy romantic storyline.

Yet, even with the stirring OST and the engaging plot, there comes a point where the audience may start to feel a bit weary. As we eagerly cheer for Aina and Hamdaan’s reunion, it’s apparent that ‘Sukoon’ is deserving of a proper conclusion, making way for something new. The anticipation for closure is as strong as the desire for a fresh narrative, ensuring the drama leaves a lasting impact on its viewers.

Ishq Murshid

The enchanting and light-hearted romantic drama, ‘Ishq Murshid‘ gracefully unfolds the lives of Shahmeer Sikandar and Shibra Salman, brought to life by the remarkable Bilal Abbas Khan and Durefishan Saleem. This heartwarming coming-of-age love story, with its fairy-tale touch, has been earning praises from all corners, captivating the audience for various reasons.

At the core of the drama’s success lies the stellar performances of Bilal Abbas and Durefishan, who have seamlessly crafted a magical chemistry on screen. Credit is due to the writer-director duo, Abdul Khaliq Khan and Farooq Rind, for conceptualizing and breathing life into these two endearing characters, delivering a feel-good project that resonates with viewers.

However, with the drama now 15 episodes in, there’s a sense that the story might be lingering. Repetitive moments hint at a need for progression, especially as Shibra unravels Fazal Baksh’s truth and discovers Shahmeer Sikandar’s identity. As viewers eagerly await the resolution, it’s high time for the story to move forward, leading to a satisfying conclusion where Shibra and Salman can finally embrace their happy ending.

We eagerly await the conclusion of these gripping tales, not out of boredom but with the hope that they make way for fresh narratives that can take us on a new rollercoaster of emotions. As the curtain falls on these dramas, we anticipate the stage being set for the emergence of other compelling stories that will seize our hearts and ratings charts alike. In the fast-paced realm of television, where change is the only constant, let the countdown begin for the grand finale, paving the way for the next binge-worthy sensation.

Makers of ‘Jamun Ka Darakht’ Unveil A Tale Of Power, Consent, And Entertainment World Intrigue

‘Jamun Ka Darakht’ is an upcoming short film starring Adnan Siddiqui, Maha Tahirani, Zara Usman, Saman Ansari, Irfan Motiwala and Fouzia Aman. The film hopes to tackle tough topics such as consent and power dynamics between two people, with the entertainment industry as its backdrop.

The film is directed by ‘Thora Jee Le’ director Rafay Rashdi, who is also known for producing shows like ‘Badshah Begum.’ The script and dialogues are penned by esteemed writer Bee Gul, who is best known for her work on the anthology series ‘Kitni Girhain Baaki Hain.’

Director Rafay Rashdi, producer Faisal Kapadia and executive producer Syed Murad Ali exclusively spoke to Galaxy Lollywood regarding the film.

A release date is yet to be announced but till then, here’s the insight we got for this project.

The Symbolic Title

Writer Bee Gul is known for her incredible writing and searing commentary which often employs symbolism as a tool to enrich her storytelling. So, naturally, people were most curious about the metaphoric title of this film and what the title ‘Jamun Ka Darakth’ was referring to.

Rafay Rashdi elaborated on this by saying “The title was written by Bee Gul. Jamun, the fruit, and its pulp can leave stains on clothes that are not easy to remove. Therefore, the profound metaphor addresses stains on oneself that can never be eradicated.”

When asked about the collaborative process with Bee Gul, Rafay said that it was a lifelong goal of his to work with the writer. “It has been a lifelong professional goal to collaborate with Bee Gul. Aside from her exceptional writing skills, she understands the boundaries of themes that can truthfully expose human nature as it is. I must mention that I waited in a queue, considering her limited availability, and I am humbled that she took the time to write this for me.”

He also shared how he approached Gul with the idea saying, “I had an idea revolving around the concepts of consent and gender wars that I wanted to explore in a raw and gritty script, shedding light on ground realities without taking a biased stance.”

Offering more insight into this collaboration, Rafay added, “Our discussions primarily focused on the choices individuals have before engaging consensually… drawing on her extensive experience in screenplay writing and themes which explore consensuality and the misuse of power dynamics, Bee Gul added valuable elements and background to the script.”

Casting Process

When asked about the casting of Adnan Siddiqui, Rafay said, “Collaborating with him was a spectacular experience. Credit goes to Faisal for the brilliant decision to bring him on board, as we needed an experienced actor for the role, and no one could have portrayed it better than Adnan.”

He went on to give us more insight into Adnan’s character, saying, “His character involves shades of grey, portraying a powerful, charismatic, charming, & dapper fashion mogul. Enigmatic and committed to the notion of what he considers justice through his unique methods.|

The director also shared how the casting process was a challenge. He revealed, “We implemented a rigorous audition process to ensure we had the perfect cast,” which also entailed daily discussions with Bee Gul, which he said was “instrumental in making casting decisions”.

We then asked Rafay about the casting of the Best Fashion Model of the Year winner at the 22nd Lux Style Awards, Maha Tahirani. He shared, “Several names were considered and consulted, but none seemed to fit the role perfectly. Some individuals were uncomfortable for personal reasons. It wasn’t until we realised that the role required someone from the fashion industry that I met Maha.

“After she read the script and underwent an audition, she expressed confidence in portraying the character as depicted and I needed that as a director. That alignment with the script’s vision was crucial for me.”

He further added, “I have to say she performed the role with aplomb and was a pleasure to work with.”

He went on to thank and praise his cast Maha Tahirani, Saman Ansari, Zara Usman, Irfan Motiwala, Fouzia Aman, Ahad Touqeer, Yogeshwar Karera, Ramesha Nawal and Nousheen Sheikh. “I have nothing but respect for the actors who accepted and became a part of ‘Jamun Ka Darakht’, revealing, “They were all selected on exceptional audition merits fit for their characters.”

Timely Topic

The conversations surrounding consent, sexual harassment and court cases based on such issues are very timely. When asked if there are any real-life inspirations for this story, Rafay had this to say.

“Certainly, and not quite. Don’t we witness daily debates on gender issues concerning consent and choices? Has there been a definitive answer as to who is right or wrong? No. Therefore, we crafted a subject for which we have left the verdict to be decided by the audience.”

Producers’ Take

When we asked executive producer, Syed Murad Ali about his decision to come on board as an executive producer, he shared, “Rafay and I share a longstanding personal connection. I’ve been eager to enter the film industry, and the right elements – script, director, production – are crucial. Combined by Rafay’s extensive filmmaking experience and an impressive script by Bee Gul, aligning with our goal to go beyond the local market.”

He further went on to say that this film is intended to go to international film festivals. The focus is to showcase “Pakistani talent and thought-provoking themes.” He also teased the horror feature ‘Deemak’ as another project in production.

Producer Faisal Kapadia shared why they made the decision to make it a short film and not a full-length feature, saying “When I first met Rafay on this film’s subject we both were of the same opinion that this must be made in the strongest possible way to provide maximum impact on the subject and for me that medium was short film instead of feature and the result will ensure the merit of this selection.”

‘Jamun Ka Darakht’ is sure to offer incredible commentary and insight into the psyche of both the victims and victimizers in issues of consent and sexual harassment. No matter which side you stand on, everyone has strong opinions on such topics. The film is certainly going to be a huge conversation starter whenever it’s released to the public.

The film is hoping to go to major international film festivals, but a release date is yet to be announced. Stay tuned to Galaxy Lollywood for further coverage until then.

‘Mannat Murad’ Last Episode: All’s Well That Ends Well

Last night saw the end of the much-hyped drama on Geo Entertainment, ‘Mannat Murad‘. The drama serial is directed by ace Pakistani director Wajahat Hussain of ‘Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3‘ fame. Hussain’s direction is currently being praised for ‘Khaie‘ on the same channel. 7th Sky Entertainment‘s ‘Mannat Murad‘ is penned by Nadia Akhtar and features Iqra Aziz, Talha Chahour and Irsa Ghazal in the lead roles.

The Story

Mannat Murad‘ revolved around the story of a young couple fighting to stay afloat amid familial pressure, a dysfunctional one on Murad’s side.

Murad’s mother, Razia Sultana, has brought up her children all alone. 4 daughters and a son. Razia Sultana braved all odds in life to raise her children but this has made her very protective, especially about her son. The thought of sharing her son with his wife scares Razia Sultana to death and she goes to all lengths to keep Murad away from Mannat.

Murad who loves Mannat often resorts to lies and dramas to get married to her and then belittles her in front of his family on every occasion his mother calls out for it.

All hell breaks loose when Murad slaps Mannat when she refuses to apologize to his mother. Mannat leaves home and files a case of Khula against Muraad who refuses to divorce her.

The Treatment

Mannat Murad‘ came across as a hotpotch of various storylines all merged into one. As shared by the writer on her social media, a number of scenes from the drama were cut for reasons unknown and what was left of the drama was a series of disconnected events that did not make much sense. Even in the last episode, Fazilat’s wedding with Mannat’s elder brother came as a surprise to the viewers because the narrative hadn’t been built upon in the earlier episodes. The same was the case of Mannat’s attachment with Hammad and Murad’s consent to marry Sitara because everything seemed to have happened out of the blue for most of the major events of the story.

Because a lot of scenes had been cut from the narrative, the ending came across as rushed. Not all loopholes were tied correctly and it did seem that a lot of subplots needed a closure that wasn’t really delivered.

The Reactions

The initial episodes of ‘Mannat Murad’ met with a lot of appreciation for Irsa Ghazal’s portrayal of Razia Sultana. However, over the course of episodes, one realized that she was the only entertaining factor in the entire drama with her spot-on acting as a Punjabi mother hiding the toxicity of the narrative.

Moving on, the audience started questioning Murad’s stance as Mannat’s husband because he came across as a spineless individual who wouldn’t take a stand for his wife and would look up to his friends and resort to lies to get out of difficult situations or avoid them altogether.

The Ending

Despite all the glitches and things going wrong, one can truly say that all is well that ends well. ‘Mannat Murad‘ ended on a happy note with Murad finally showing some backbone and speaking up to his mother to clear Mannat’s name from the allegations that she hurled at her.

The audience praised Muraad for speaking up at last and offering closure to at least one of the loose ends of the story.

Bollywood’s Ongoing Obsession With Remaking Music: Netizens React To Jhoom’s Remake

Bollywood, known for its vibrant and diverse music industry, has often faced criticism for its tendency to borrow heavily from other cultures, especially Pakistan. In recent years, the spotlight has turned towards Bollywood’s apparent obsession with copying Pakistani music. One of the notable instances that has fueled this debate once again, very recently, was the remake of Coke Studio’s ‘Pasoori’ and now Ali Zafar’s ‘Jhoom,’ raising questions about the originality and creative integrity within the Indian film industry.

The Jhoom Remake

Adding fuel to the fire, Bollywood has now further stoked the controversy by remaking another popular, ‘Jhoom’, a cult classic by Ali Zafar. The song’s Bollywood rendition with the likes of Nora Fatehi and Vidyut Jammwal starring in the music video, the new lyrics written by Gurpreet Saini and sung by Vishal Mishra and Shreya Ghoshal have similarly faced scepticism. Fans of the original ‘Jhoom’ have questioned the need for a remake when the original already enjoyed widespread acclaim.

The underlying issue in both instances is not merely the act of remaking but the lack of acknowledgement and collaboration with the original creators. Although the song mentions Ali Zafar as the OG behind the song, the audience is not happy with the treatment the remake has received.

The comments have gone viral like wildfire and they still seem to be flooding the internet, left, right and centre.

The Pasoori Controversy

Last year, Bollywood stirred up controversy with the release of the film ‘Satya Prem Ki Katha‘ which featured a revamped version of Coke Studio‘s hit song ‘Pasoori.” The original, produced by Pakistani musicians Bilal Maqsood and Faisal Kapadia, was widely praised for its unique blend of traditional and contemporary music elements. However, Bollywood’s decision to recreate the song sparked a wave of criticism, with many accusing the industry of lacking creativity and resorting to plagiarism.

While the remake retained the catchy beats and soulful melodies of the original, it faced backlash for diluting the authenticity that made ‘Pasoori’ a cultural phenomenon. Critics argued that Bollywood missed an opportunity to collaborate with Pakistani artists or explore new avenues rather than replicating an already successful song.

Conclusion

The public’s response to Bollywood’s remake of Ali Zafar’s ‘Jhoom‘ has been overwhelmingly negative, highlighting the challenges and pitfalls that come with recreating iconic songs. Nobody messes with Ali Zafar, says the Pakistani audience. The widespread disappointment reflects not only the emotional attachment audiences on this side of the border have with the original but also the heightened expectations placed on remakes to capture the essence and magic of the original composition.

This public reaction serves as a reminder to the film industry of the delicate balance required when venturing into the realm of remakes, urging filmmakers to approach such projects with care, creativity, and a deep understanding of audience sentiments. Ultimately, the public’s disappointment underscores the need for Bollywood to prioritize quality over quantity in its pursuit of remaking timeless classics.
