Fahad Mustafa attacks Wajahat Rauf’s web series ‘Enaaya’ for its content!

An Eros Now original, Wajahat Rauf’s new web series, Enaaya, finally made its way to its home platform on January 20, 2019. The first episode of the series was also uploaded on YouTube for promotional purposes and things look good, to say the least.

Starring Mehwish Hayat, Azfar Rehman, Asad Siddiqui, and Faryal Mehmood in lead roles, the web series, however, is currently under fire by Fahad Mustafa for some of its content.

You can watch the first episode here:

Fahad Mustafa Says: Web Series or Porn

After watching the series; we don’t know how much of it, Fahad Mustafa took to Twitter and threw some major shade on it.

Rather blatantly, Fahad equated Enaaya with porn because of its abusive language and bold scenes. Now even though Fahad Mustafa didn’t mention any names, it is not hard to decipher which web series the tweet referred to. Enaaya is literally Pakistan’s first web-series and it came out only a week ago.

So, the first time a director finally tries to be experimental and brave with the content, the renowned names from the industry are the first ones to throw shade. Firstly, we believe there’s a reason Wajahat Rauf chose the internet as a dissemination platform for his web series.

You cannot simply be too experimental, or even organic with language and stories, on electronic media, at least not in the current censorship-heavy environment. Secondly, Fahad Mustafa’s tweet can hardly be counted as constructive criticism as it just attacks without any solid logic whatsoever.

Jami to the Rescue

However, not all hope is lost. If one member of the industry was up for criticizing the web series, another stood up in Wajahat’s defense.

Jami quite aptly called Fahad out on social media; without, of course, naming any names, and reminded him that he his no saint here either. Jami reminded the actor to look back at the item numbers in his films (Billi and Kaif-o-Suroor) before making vulgarity accusations on others.

History to the Animosity

Amusingly, there is another aspect that needs to be factored into the entire situation. Just a few months back, Ahmed Ali Butt went live on his Instagram, and the video had Humayun Saeed, Fahad Mustafa, Kubra Khan, Vasay Chaudhry, and Ahmed Ali Butt himself.

It’s common knowledge that Kubra Khan will be starring in Wajahat Rauf’s Karachi Se Lahore 3, which is currently on hold as the director has moved to his next, but at that time it wasn’t sure if Kubra was a part of the film. The four of them were laughing around and subtly poking fun at Kubra, Wajahat Rauf, and just generally Karachi Se Lahore 3. It was, beyond any doubt, in bad taste.

Wajahat Rauf had then replied to this video with a cryptic status, which again doesn’t mention names, but it’s not hard to decipher, given the timing.

Here the question arises; could Fahad Mustafa and co. have a personal vendetta against Wajahat Rauf or is it just that he doesn’t see eye to eye with the kind of work the latter does? It’s a question only Fahad Mustafa can answer.

What do you think of the whole situation? Let us know in the comments.

Exclusive: Here is all you need to know about Wajahat Rauf’s untitled next

Wajahat Rauf 3rd film

We reported you earlier that Wajahat Rauf has put the third installment of Karachi Se Lahore on hold and jumped onto a new project. Not revealing much at that time, the director had told us that he is eyeing Eid-ul-Fitr 2019 as the release date for this next project of his. That was earlier this month, and now, finally, we have more details on the film.

Are two Pakistani films actually releasing on 22nd March?

Project Ghazi Sherdil release date

After a rather slow start to the year, things finally seem to be picking up the pace for Pakistan Film Industry. Two films; Mikaal Zulfiqar and Armeena Rana starrer airforce drama, Sherdil, and Humayun Saeed, Sheheryar Munawar, and Syra Shahroz starrer superhero film, Project Ghazi, are both supposedly set to release on 22 March 2019.

The focus here should be on the word “supposedly!”

GL Box Office: Here is how films fared this week (18 Jan 19 – 24 Jan 19)

box office 18 Jan 19 - 24 Jan 19

2019 has so far not been a great year for the Pakistani box office. No film released in over three weeks of the new year, be it local or foreign, has been able to wow the audiences. Even the reports about the last week’s releases are not that great. Here is, however, a detailed rundown of how the box office performed in the past week.

Films this Friday (25 January 2019): Kangana’s “Manikarnika” on the offer

2019 has seen a galore of releases over the past few weeks. Seven movies released last week and six in the week before that. All of them, however, have failed to register any success at the box-office.

While it seems like an off-season in terms of box-office, it seems like the coming week would be an off-week in terms of movies too. We say this because as compared to the last couple of weeks where multiple films would release every weekend, this week has only one film releasing, i.e. Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.

Fresh: Meet the complete cast of upcoming film “Tich Button”

Last week we were teased with the first look of upcoming romantic family drama “Tich Button” when the makers uploaded a fifteen-second video announcing the project which would mark Farhan Saeed’s silver screen debut and wife Urwa’s first time as a producer.

Although there was no official confirmation by the makers, the fact that Iman Ali and Feroze Khan uploaded the video on their Instagram handles the cat was pretty much out of the bag.

However, a few days later an official announcement was made regarding Feroze Khan and Farhan Saeed as the two leads, whereas Iman in an interview also confirmed that she was a part of the film.

The Mystery Second Lead

With the reveal of these three actors, the next big question was of course about the second female lead.

Although we have been told that both the female roles are meaty leading parts, we are using the term second lead here as to shed light on who the other actress will be.

Anyhow, producer Urwa Hocane has revealed that the actress in question is the Azaadi girl Sonya Hussyn. Yes, after sharing space with Moammar Rana the promising actress will be sharing space with dishy dudes Feroze and Farhan in this film.

Filming Begins

Directed by Qasim Ali Mureed, we have learned that the film goes on set 26th of January. You stay tuned to Galaxy Lollywood as we shall soon be bringing you more stories from the sets of this eagerly awaited film.

Till then you let us know what do you think of this cast by leaving a comment in the comments section.

The camps in Pakistan film industry and film industry in camps

Pakistan film camps

There is no denying the fact that almost all film industries have certain camps and groups in them. If Christopher Nolan won’t make a film without his wife, Emma Thompson, as its producer, you will see Nawazuddin a common element in a lot of Anurag Kashyap projects too.

In simple terms, these are basically groups of directors, producers, and even actors who have their personal favorites they like to work with. Since Pakistan film industry is quite tiny in its size, the practice is more visible and common here. Risks are high and therefore, people like working mostly in comfort zones they have built overtime.

2018 has been a great year for women, on social media. The social media platforms provided women and marginalized groups, in general, a safe space to voice their grievances, to a considerable extent.

Amidst all of this, the #MeToo movement also made its way to Pakistan. A number of men in power were exposed and it started a much-needed conversation around sexual harassment. Pakistani Twitter was at the forefront of all of this.

Ishrat film Mohib Mirza first look

Mohib Mirza’s name needs no introduction when it comes to the Pakistani entertainment scene. The critically acclaimed actor has proven his mettle time and again on both big and small screens. He was, however, missing from the big screen ever since the debacle of Shaan’s directorial comeback, Arth.
