We know this review comes out a bit late, but then what do you say about a film which gets disowned by its team a day before its nationwide release? When one of the main actors of the film reveals how the film is a rip off of another production and shares his skepticism? Well, not much is left to say.
Fawad Khan is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars of the Pakistani entertainment industry. Time and again he has proven his versatility as a performer, the result of which has been his massive success story!
What began with Humsafar, only grew over the years as the Fawad hysteria took over the world, thanks to a seamless transition into mainstream Bollywood which made him a worldwide sensation.
After the first couple of weeks of the new year, Pakistani box-office has started suffering once again. Primarily due to the failure of films in striking a chord with the cinema-going audience, the poor marketing has only added to the miseries. So much so that the films were unable to manage even a good opening weekend.
The fourth edition of Pakistan Super League commences on 14th February 2019 in Dubai. We reported earlier that Fawad Khan would be replacing Ali Zafar for the official anthem of PSL’s 4th edition. And now, we are telling you that our new-age Maula Jatt will be sharing the PSL stage with international stars like Pitbull and Boney M.
The year 2019 is almost half a month old now. This provides us with a vantage point to look back at all that happened in 2018. And a lot did happen in 2018. While some instances had us saying WTF, others could easily be called the wins of the year.
Here, Galaxy Lollywood takes a look back at all the major WTF and FTW moments of Pakistan’s entertainment industry from last year.
Last week, we saw a total of six releases in Pakistani cinemas. These included films like Gumm, Jackpot, Instant Family, Escape Room, K.G.F., and Do Dooni Panj. None of these six, however, could manage anything extraordinary at the box-office.
This week again, we have seven new releases and hopefully, the trade won’t disappoint as much. Among the films releasing this weekend, we have:
We have been talking about Pakistani content’s entry into the world of digital streaming for quite some time now. A couple of weeks back we also brought you a list of possible prospects for the country’s first original in the world of streaming and binge-watching. Well, the dream has been realised and the trailer for Pakistan’s first ever Web-TV series, “Enaaya” just got released.
The series, which is an Eros original, stars Mehwish Hayat and Azfar Rehman in lead roles, and Wajaht Rauf (Karachi Sey Lahore) has directed it. Enaaya is the same web-show we had told you earlier that Wajahat Rauf is working on.
Pakistani supermodel and critically acclaimed actor, Iman Ali, has finally decided to settle down in what may come as a rather pleasant surprise for both the showbiz community and her millions of fans across the globe.
While not much is known yet about the lucky man chosen by Iman to sign the matrimonial papers, Galaxy Lollywood has learned the groom’s name.
Named, Babar Bhatti, seems like the groom may be known to the Bol star for quite a while considering the photo below where she is pictured with Mr Bhatti. We have also learned that the wedding is going to be a simple affair with two low key events to take place end February, and certainly a no hashtag series.
While we were holding the news for quite some time now, on the request of the actress primarily, the public announcement came through this social media post of designer HSY. The ace designer and Iman’s dear friend, HSY can be seen having fun at Iman’s Dholki event.

The 38 years old actor in her multiple previous interviews had stated that she would choose a man who is caring and not necessarily rich.
In a career spanning around two decades, Iman’s name was attached to various men on and off. The most notable of those included the Jab We Met director Imtiaz Ali. The news and rumor mill would be at work with this name whenever Iman would visit India for her various fashion assignments.
Born in Lahore to veteran Film and TV actor Abid Ali, Iman dominated Pakistani fashion as a supermodel in what could be one the longest tenures for a local model.
Our bride to be made an acting debut in PTV drama, Arman, which was shortly followed by Kismet and various others. In 2005, she appeared in Supreme Ishq, a music video directed by Shoaib Mansoor, and then collaborated with ShoMan once again for his silver screen debut in 2007’s historical film Khuda Ke Liye. The film later proved to be a catalyst for the moribund Pakistani cinema’s revival.
Later, Iman starred in films like Bol (2011) and Mah e Mir (2016), and continued to surprise the industry insiders and disappoint her fans for rejecting films like O21, Punjab Nahi Jaungi and multiple Indian offers.
Where she worked with bigwigs of Indian fashion industry like Suneet Varma, Tarun Tahiliani, Manish Malhotra, and JJ Valaya, she also remained and still remains the darling of advertisers and brands.
Though the official announcement is still awaited, we speculate that Iman Ali, later this year, could be seen in Farhan Saeed’s debut film “Tich Button’’.

From the revival stage a few years back, Pakistani cinema has entered into an expansion phase now. A sign of this has been the industry’s pursuit of finding alternate exhibition platforms. While for some it comes in the form of releasing their films in China, for others, it is a digital platform like Netflix.
Asim Azhar and Hania Amir have recently been all over our social media. And on account of the speculations, the two might just be dating.
Last month, the two of them walked on the ramp together at the Bridal Couture Week (PHBCW Lahore), that soon after became the talk of the town and rightfully so.
