“Dhai Chaal Doesn’t Need To Eye Festive Events To Find Footfalls” Says Producer Dr Irfan Ashraf

Ahead of the release of Ayesha Omar, Shamoon Abbasi and Humayoun Ashraf starrer Dhai Chaal, producer Dr Irfan Ashraf spoke exclusively with Galaxy Lollywood about his idea of making a film based on convicted Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav, his aim to break out from the shackles of Bollywood’s idea of cinema, the production challenges, opting for a solo release and more.

Was Dhai Chaal a film he always wanted to make, or did it have a specific starting point? We asked. “I’ve spent a significant part of my life in Baluchistan, where I pursued my education in Quetta. This allowed me to gain profound insights into the region, including its people and rich traditions. Keeping in mind the prevalent misconceptions about the province, Dhai Chaal is grounded in the backdrop of Balochistan, yet it transcends to address broader national issues in Pakistan. The underlying objective is to bring forth an untold tale that clears the global misconception propagated by Indians, who falsely portray Pakistan as a breeding ground for terrorism.”

Elaborating on the same he added, “India, particularly, fosters a misleading perception about Baluchistan, suggesting the presence of anti-Pakistani sentiments among its residents. But in reality, the people of Baluchistan are as devoted to Pakistan as any other citizen. It was a fulfilling dream to showcase their patriotism and sacrifices onto the cinematic canvas.”

Ashraf revealed that Dhai Chaal is mostly shot in real locations. “We shot at the famous Balochistan Tourist spot Pir Ghaib, the mountains of Bostan, and Chiltan, as well as the New Kahan camp near Hazar Ganji. Shooting outdoors has its own set of challenges, I am thankful to the locals who coordinated with us.”

When asked if he spends lavishly or practices cost-cutting, the producer said, “I have fueled this project with personal investments. It is a high-budget film with over 15 cores including post-production expenses. Despite the challenges, I made every effort to accommodate my cast and crew.”

Ashraf believes that Bollywood over the years has consistently produced films that perpetuate misconceptions about Pakistan. “Bard of Blood, Code Name: Tiranga, Mission Majnu, Pathaan, The Attacks of 26/11, the short film The Line of Freedom and the upcoming film Mujib solely depict Pakistan in a negative light, even though they are involved in terrorism and sponsor such activities.”

He added, “India sent Kulbhushan Jadhav to Pakistan, who was identified as a RAW operative agent. As of now, they are busy constructing a fabricated narrative of disowning him. The entire world is aware of this reality. As Pakistanis, we must step forward and take a stand against these misrepresentations.”

Films in Pakistan are mainly released on festive occasions. When asked about the reason for going solo, he said, “Dhai Chaal doesn’t need to eye festive events to find footfalls. It boasts elements of action, breathtaking landscapes, stellar cinematography, and a solid script. The film is aimed to revolutionise the landscape of Pakistani cinema,” he concluded.

Directed by Taimoor Sherazi and written by Farheen Chaudhry, Dhai Chaal releases in cinemas on December 8.

Unmasking The Toxicity Of Morning Shows Through Jannat Se Aagay

Geo Entertainment and 7th Sky Entertainment’s recent drama, Jannat Sey Aagay, concluded its journey, leaving behind a trail of impactful storytelling. Penned by the renowned novelist Umera Ahmed and directed by Haseeb Hassan of Mann Mayal fame, the show dared to delve into the often glamorised but seldom scrutinised world of morning shows, uncovering layers of toxicity that persist beneath the surface.

Starring Kubra Khan, Ramsha Khan, Mirza Gohar Rasheed, and Talha Chahour, the drama provided a fresh take on the rise and fall within the entertainment industry, particularly shedding light on the intricate minds behind the morning show culture. With the success of their previous collaboration on Alif, Umera Ahmed and Haseeb Hassan continued their exploration of societal complexities in Jannat Sey Aagay.

Amidst the captivating storyline, the drama didn’t shy away from delivering potent messages about life and societal norms. One episode, in particular, featured a doctor’s critique of media, exposing how it detrimentally affects the youth. “Instead of teaching the viewers something positive, they tend to lead them towards a rat race and teach them materialism. Showing fancy weddings in their show and making them look like an achievement in life. Also, sells love as a label,” voiced the doctor. This critique serves as a sharp commentary on the morning show culture, highlighting its toxic tendencies.

In another powerful moment, Jannat Ali Khan, portrayed by Kubra Khan, coerces guests who are victims of heinous crimes into sharing their deeply traumatic experiences on camera. The insensitive demand exposes the harsh reality of channels and show producers who exploit the pain and trauma of individuals for the sake of ratings and virality. It becomes a stark portrayal of the callous approach often taken by such shows.

Jannat Sey Aagay succeeds in unmasking the dark side of morning shows, challenging viewers to reflect on the societal impact of these seemingly harmless segments. As the drama takes its final bow, it leaves us with more than just entertainment — it sparks a crucial conversation about the ethical responsibilities of media and the urgent need for a change in narrative.

Ali Zafar Awarded Pakistani Singer Of The Year At DIAFA Awards

Pakistani sensation Ali Zafar was honoured with the prestigious title of Pakistani Singer of the Year at the 7th Edition of the Distinctive International Arab Festivals Awards (DIAFA) in Dubai. Dressed impeccably in a black suit adorned with a bow tie, the Jhoom singer not only accepted the accolade but also graced the audience with a mesmerising performance, showcasing his exceptional musical prowess.

The presenter, acknowledging the rich and diverse musical landscape of Pakistan, praised Ali Zafar’s phenomenal impact on the global music scene. “Music from Pakistan is rich and diverse, reflecting the nation’s cultural tapestry and appreciation for diverse musical expression. Tonight, we celebrate the Pakistani artist whose impact has been nothing but phenomenal.”

Expressing his gratitude, Ali Zafar thanked the awarding committee and the event attendees. However, his appreciation extended beyond the world of entertainment. “I am particularly moved by the gesture that this ceremony brings to light the plight of a very important cause, which is what is happening in Gaza and what has been happening in Palestine for decades. Yes, we are entertainers, actors, and singers, but first and foremost, we’re human beings.”

The DIAFA Awards, founded and presided over by Dr Michel Daher, aims to connect art, culture, cinema, music, and business to unite people from various walks of life. He said, “We want our audiences to know that no matter where they belong, it is these cultural threads that bond us together for a larger purpose.”

The event not only recognizes outstanding talent but also serves a higher purpose by supporting causes such as the “Tarahum for Gaza” campaign. Through a wide platform and global live TV broadcast, DIAFA is raising funds for Dubai Cares, part of Mohammed bin Rashid Global Initiatives, and creating awareness about the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Palestine.

Ali Zafar joins the list of Pakistani celebrities honoured at the DIAFA Awards. In previous editions, luminaries such as Maya Ali, Sajal Aly and Mahira Khan received accolades for their outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment. This recognition on international platforms signifies the global impact of Pakistani artists, making the nation proud on a grand scale.

“After Mahira Khan If There Is Anyone With Star Potential It Is Hania Aamir,” Says Fahad Mustafa

Fahad Mustafa recently unravelled fascinating insights and dropped hints about a new collaboration at The Shoaib Akhtar Show 2.0 show. He was asked about three female actors from the current generation he’d like to work with in a film, and interestingly, he named Hania Aamir thrice.

Expressing his admiration for Hania, Fahad said, “Because I think, after Mahira (Khan), if there is anyone with star potential, it is Hania.” He praised her hard work and genuine nature, saying, “She’s very good at heart also, and a very effortless actor.”

Shoaib Akhtar, ever the curious host, probed Fahad about working with Hania, to which Fahad humorously replied, “I haven’t yet. I’ve been telling her for many years to grow up a bit, and then we’ll do it. Now she’s grown up, so we will.” Shoaib, playful asked if Fahad was waiting for her to mature, and Fahad jokingly responded, “Yes, I felt she was quite young.”

The suspense continued when Shoaib asked if they were working on something together. Fahad, with a sly smile, teased, “We are doing something together. I don’t kiss and tell. I think once it’s done and out, then you talk about it. But yes, we are about to do something.” When asked if Hania would be in Fahad’s upcoming December release, he playfully responded, “Maybe.”

In Fahad eyes, Hania shines as a talent to reckon with, even drawing a parallel with a loved star like Mahira. While Mahira boasts a vast fan base, Fahad’s focus on Hania’s talent signals a shift in industry dynamics. It remains to be seen how fans will react to this candid comparison.

Speaking about his collaborations with established stars like Mehwish Hayat and Mahira Khan, Fahad emphasised their understanding of the filmmaking process. He shared, “The biggest thing is that they understand the process, they’re disciplined people. They love acting, which is the biggest thing. Like, I’ve done about five to six films with Nabeel (Qureshi). I feel there are far more talented people in this country. But why we end up working together is because we understand the importance of the story of the film.”

Fahad further said that filmmaking is a collective process, where the connection on a storytelling level is crucial. He praised Mehwish and Mahira for bringing their own value without forcing themselves, noting that despite their stardom, they remain unburdened by insecurities.

The revelation about Fahad and Hania working together has sparked mixed reviews among viewers, with some questioning the age difference and others anticipating an interesting on-screen pairing.

This isn’t the first time Fahad and Hania would be collaborating though. They have previously starred in movies like Na Maloom Afraad 2 and Load Wedding, however, they weren’t together in those roles. Hence, it would be different this time. Fahad has also been the producer of dramas starring Hania, including Mujhey Pyaar Hua Tha and Ishqiya. One thing is for sure – we’re eager to see this fresh collaboration unfold.

Khushbo Mein Basay Khat: A Tale Of Intrigue, Talented Cast And Grand Productions

HUM TV’s most recent offering Khushbo Mein Basay Khat promises a spellbinding narrative with an original storyline and a stellar cast. The teasers of the drama left us in awe and intrigued as we await to see how the narrative will unfold.

Penned by Amna Mufti and directed by Mohammad Saqib Khan, Khushbo Mein Basay Khat is an MD production. The drama delves into multiple layers, touching upon extramarital affairs, power dynamics, social class differences, and interwoven stories of diverse individuals.

Here are three reasons why we are looking forward to the project to air soon on television.

The enthralling storyline

The teasers of the upcoming project are cut and edited so aptly that they leave us hooked without giving any spoilers. The script seems captivating as it follows the life of an older married couple who are surrounded by several complexities that contaminate their marriage. Ahmed Zaryab, played by Adnan Siddiqui, is essayed as a flirtatious poet who is seen courting different women in the teaser.

Nadia Jamil — who plays Adnan Siddiqui’s wife in the drama — is a surgeon who is not afraid to take a stand for herself. Nadia Jamil’s character builds an element of mystic around it as she seems a woman who is dejected but is not ready to give up.

On the other end of the spectrum, is Kinza Hashmi’s character who belongs from a humble background. The teasers show that she is in a romantic relationship with Ahmed Zaryab. Is she truly in love with him or is she deceiving him for ulterior motives? Our guess is as good as yours.

The talented cast

The drama stars a very talented pool of actors. The drama will mark the return of Nadia Jamil and Adnan Siddiqui back together on-screen. The duo was seen in the popular Asim Raza’s telefilm Behadd.

Both actors seem to have done a job well-done in portraying their characters. Adnan Siddiqui looks charming as he is set to play the role of a poet in this drama. His character seems to give off narcist, toxic vibes while he is also able to sway you with his charisma. Seeing Adnan Siddiqui play a complex character, with different shades is something we are excited to see.

On the other hand, it is a treat to see Nadia Jamil on-screen. In a few seconds, Nadia made us feel sympathetic towards her character in one scene while making us feel petrified of her in another.

It would be an interesting build-up to see the unravelling of chemistry and the tension between the characters played by these two actors.

The drama will also star Kinza Hashmi. Her character, Husna Hussain also seems to have a backstory and several shades that have built an element of mystic. Kinza looked stunning in the teasers, especially in the scene where she dons the red shalwar kameez.

A lavish production

From the looks of it, it seems that Khushbo Mein Basay Khat boosts a grand and massive production with attention to detail given to each element in the drama-from the grand house to the wardrobe of actors.

All in all, Khushbo Mein Basay Khat seems like a timeless and classic production that has a lot of potential. The drama’s first episode will air on Tuesday 28th November on HUM TV. Stay tuned for what promises to be an enthralling story.

Wahaj Ali’s Latest Promotional Video Causes Public Uproar

Who needs a publicist when you have Pakistani fans? Pakistani fans are a rare breed. Their loyalty and love for an actor knows no bounds. Once, they have sworn allegiance to an actor, they will protect them like a swift falcon, whether it’s against those bloodhound keyboard warriors who are trying to tarnish the reputation of their favourite star on the internet or whether anyone, who has, God forbid, dared to express a hint of disfavour towards their beloved star.

It’s a fanbase whose ardour knows no bounds and whose commitment transforms into an unwavering defence against any threat, unless, of course, the actor commits a misstep that shatters the pedestal they’ve been placed upon — only then might their pristine reputation face a tarnishing of its own making.

We saw a similar incident unfold recently when all eyes were on the nation’s heartthrob Wahaj Ali after he posted a short teaser for an ad for a women’s clothing brand, on his Instagram, which did not sit well with his fans. The video features Wahaj Ali, shirtless in a bed, causing an uproar on social media. Fans expressed their disappointment towards the actor for choosing to sign up for the ad.

There was also a section of the audience that praised the actor for stepping out of his comfort zone and signing up for something that was out of the box.

In a great marketing extravaganza, piquing our interest and making us wonder what the teaser was about, the truth finally unveils itself. Hello Mr Grey, I mean Mr Wahaj is all we want to say after seeing that steaming video. The ad grasps our attention as it opens with a shot of Wahaj Ali and the female model through someone’s eyeball. The nineteen-second ad does make an impression through its lavish backdrop, fast-paced music, and of course, two muses donning the new collection, concluding the ad with Wahaj’s controversial shot.

May we add, from the looks of it, that the shot did not add any creative value in the entire scheme of things, except for grabbing the audience’s attention, which one cannot deny has been done aptly.

Wahaj Ali has been in the limelight after the massive success of his drama Tere Bin, where he played the character of Murtasim. The drama received an unprecedented response from the audience, breaking viewership records. Tere Bin not only garnered popularity in Pakistan but was watched and discussed globally, leading to a rise of a fan base for all those involved in the project-especially the lead stars Wahaj Ali and Yumna Zaidi.

But fame, much like a nosy neighbour, brings along unnecessary attention and unavoidable critique. In such moments, actors must tread with the grace of a tightrope walker – balancing adoration and the occasional hiccup.

Does this mean that stars dedicate their lives to please their audience and give up their artistic freedom and expression?

Over the years, we have been a witness to such events. Many renowned stars, especially female actresses in our industry, have been thrown under the bus due to an occasional slip that did not confer with the moral gauge of our audience.

Is it time for our audience to be more accepting?

Maybe it’s time for our impassioned and opinionated audience to hit the pause button and view things from a different angle – to cut our actors some slack and allow them room to be just human. It’s like we’re all aboard the hypocrisy express, riding the rails of judgment on our actors for roles we wouldn’t watch on our own Netflix screens. It’s as if we’re saying, “Yes, give us all the drama and intensity on streaming, but goodness gracious, spare us the shock of seeing our beloved actors do the same!” It’s time for a reality check — let’s dish out the same leniency we give to our binge-watching habits and grant our actors the space to flex their craft without the glare of our double standards. Though the clothes may fade from memory, this ad is here to stay, making a lasting impression.

Jhok Sarkar Finale: Did Farhan Saeed Do Justice To The Cop Universe?

Actors today are willing to take risks and embrace characters that showcase their versatility. Jhok Sarkar is Farhan Saeed’s first outing in the cop universe. With popular names like Hashim Nadeem as the writer and Safie Hassan as the director at the helm, did Saeed manage to do justice to the tailor-made role of Arsalan? Let’s find out.

The Lukewarm Proceedings

The first thing that needs inspection is the premise. We have seen such narratives a zillion times before but one does expect the treatment to be different in the presence of a prolific writer like Nadeem. The narrative opens well but gets mediocre and highly predictable toward the climax. Farhan’s earnest act is the only highlight in this otherwise routine story, with dialogues and performances that don’t bring the feel of freshness. The directions by Hassan were shaky this time. The finale sequence is shot half-heartedly with weak choreographed action.

The Unwanted Love Story

The initial episodes featured a track where Arsalan and Lubna — played by Mahenur Haider — parted ways due to class differences. This equation would have been digestible if an officer was in a relationship and was entirely focused on his work. ASP Arsalan’s track with Sassi — played by Hiba Bukhari — was planted unnecessarily just to check the box of a romantic angle. Their screen presence lacked fizz and did nothing to take the narrative forward. These scenes deviated the focus into the main action.

The Loose Ends

There were many questions left unanswered. Lubna’s comeback was a surprise but nothing substantial happened. Throughout, there wasn’t any valid reason why Peeral married Noorie (Mamya Shajaffar). How did wicked Sardari Begum (Sakina Samo) out of the blue become an angel, helping Noorie to punish the culprits? Also, the impact of the cop universe was hampered by domestic issues of Peeral’s (Asif Raza Mir) spouses ganging up against Noorie.

Special Mention

Mamya Shajaffar was the highlight of Jhok Sarkar. She was more visible in the initial episodes but later on, her screen time was chopped off. Despite of that, she ate up Bukhari with her electrifying screen presence and acting prowess. She got to mouth some of the best lines, she embodied the accent and body language of a village girl to perfection.

Summing it up, watching Jhok Sarkar was like a firecracker that didn’t fully explode into the wholesome entertainment zone. If all of the above was taken care of this one had the potential to be a clean hit.

Deemak: Faysal Quraishi and Sonya Hussyn’s Horror Homecoming

Faysal Quraishi and Sonya Hussyn have teamed up for a horror flick called Deemak. The Zulm star is making a comeback with not one, but two films next year.

Quraishi was last seen gracing the silver screen back in 2016, in Khalid Anum’s Laloolal.com rocking the lead role – Laloo Lal. The thought of catching him on the big screen again has us all buzzing with anticipation. It’s like a cinematic reunion we’ve been waiting for.

From Laughter to Chills: Quraishi’s Diverse Roles

First up, in Mango Jutt, directed by Abu Aleeha, Faysal is taking the lead in a Punjabi comedy that promises to be a riot. But wait, there’s more. In Rafay Rashidi’s Deemak, our man is diving into the horror scene after a bit of a break.

Now, Deemak is causing quite a stir, and we can see why. It’s based on a true story, spookily written by Ayesha Muzzafar. And get this – they’ve got a VFX team from Canada on board to make it as creepy as the Conjuring series, director Rafay Rashidi shared this with us.

Rashidi spilt the beans, saying Faysal was all in after hearing about the plot, especially because it’s inspired by some really spooky stuff that went down with the family back in 2020, in the Harnai district located in Balochistan.

“I showed Faysal the sneak peeks of the Jinns in our movie, and he was totally blown away, impressed and all, we have hired the Canadian-based VFX team because we want the best effects in the story to captivate the audiences,”

‘I’ve always wanted to work with Faysal since Badshah Begum, and finally, my wish came true,” he said with a big grin.

The Alpha Man Unveiled

Now, you might be wondering, what’s Faysal’s character in the movie?

Well, Rafay shed light on that by saying, “He was curious too. After reading the script, he asked me about his character, and I spilt the beans. Picture this – he’s the ultimate Alpha Man in the family, ready to go to bat for his loved ones no matter what. Married guy vibes, with Sonya playing his wife and the legendary Samina Peerzada as the mother. It’s like a family drama with a spooky twist.”

“Now, don’t expect any gore or item numbers because we’re keeping it family-friendly. But here’s the scoop – you’re definitely going to catch some Jinn action”, he further said.

In an exclusive interview with Geo Digital, actress Sonya Hussyn opened up about her exhilarating venture into the horror genre with Deemak, marking her first-ever foray into the spooky cinematic world. Previously, she made waves with her role in Neha Laaj’s Daadal – this year.

Expressing her excitement, Sonya revealed, “I’ve always harboured a desire to explore the realm of horror movies, but none grabbed my attention quite like Deemak. So, when the opportunity knocked, I immediately said ‘yes.’ I do believe in paranormal phenomena, but, to be honest, I’m also a bit spooked by the idea of ghosts. Let’s not talk about them too much because I’ve heard they might just come to say hello.” she chuckled.

Talking about the cast Rafay mentioned that – Javed Sheikh, Bushra Ansari, and Saman Ansari are all on board for this eerie adventure. The movie is all set to release in 2024.

So, are you ready for this spooky experience?

Kabli Pulao’s Finale: A Heartfelt Culmination Of Simplicity And Love

Who could predict that a show with little to no star face involved would manage to become the biggest blockbuster of the year. Kabli Pulao, the delightfully surprising superhit drama by Green Entertainment came to an end last night after a run of 19 episodes and we fans are definitely not disappointed.

Starring veteran actor and director Ehteshamuddin opposite the young, immensely talented, and promising Sabeena Farooq, the project is a Kashif Nisar directorial and penned down by Zafar Mairaj.

The Successful Run

In the era of glamour, sparkle, and never-ending sensationalism and grandness, there comes a show that grabs the attention of the masses for its simple storyline and subtle script, the beginning of ‘Kabli Pulao’ and the massive acknowledgement spoke volumes itself.

Story of a simple Afghani refugee Barbeena played by Sabeena Farooq who ends up marrying a 51-year-old Haji Mushtaq played by Ehteshamuddin who nothing is but a dedicated and sacrificing family man. A father figure to his siblings as well as their children, Haji Mushtaq was shown as a pious man who spent his entire life serving his family so much so that he never got settled. The story then progressed as Barbeena and Haji Mushtaq tried adjusting to the situation they were landed in.

The Casting And Performances

‘Kabli Pulao’ cannot be categorized as a hero-centric commercial drama that contains one damsel waiting for a knight, although it beautifully shows the chemistry between the leads. The show is dedicated to the supporting cast as much as the leads.

Nadia Afgan’s portrayal of the resilient and equally vulnerable Shameem will be remembered surely for years to come. Also, Abdullah Farhatullah’s brilliant performance as Baraan won us several times during the run. Some other notable performers of the show include Saqib Sumeer, Fajjer Khan, Raima Khan, Umer Dar, and Adnan Shah Tipu.

The Climax

The last episode of Kabli Pulao is a piece of perfection just like the show itself. Haji Mushtaq and Baraan’s one on one conversations as two broken men who are both in a complicated situation was pure as well as refreshing. It is a rare sight where two men who are in love with the same woman communicate so impactfully that it leaves a mark on the viewer.

Shameem’s advice Haji Mushtaq to leave everything for Barbeena’s sake is truly a heartbreaking and beautifully written scene. Nadia Afgan depicted the pain of one-sided love and then the helplessness of letting that loved one leave but that too for his own prosperity shows how greatly talented she is.

The clever hints of the possible pairing of Chammo and Baraan was also pleasant but the heart of the episode has to be the very last scene where Barbeena and Haji Mushtaq start to live their innocent new journey with a small venture of Kabli Pulao.

Summing Up

It would be sinned to not watch a drama as beautiful and as gentle as Kabli Pulao. That too in these times when Pakistani television really needs to get redefined for its simplicity and meaningful storytelling and not for glamour, melodrama, designer clothes, grand sets, and sensationalism. Kabli Pulao is now airing on Indian Television on Zee Zindagi, attesting to the widespread recognition of the show.

Hina Bayat Reveals Being Ghosted By A Major Channel After Delay Of Payment

It is not an unaccustomed thing to hear about the delay of payments in show business, breach of contract, and frequent ghosting of artists when it comes to fulfilling commitments. A similar incident came to light when Hina Khawaja Bayat, a respected senior actress of our industry, who has gracefully won her audience’s heart through her performances, recently revealed in Nida Yasir’s morning show about how a big channel ghosted her after making her do an entire Ramadan transmission, making her wait for an entire 2.5 years before she could secure the payment through a legal procedure.

Hina Bayat narrated the entire incident. She admitted her mistake of doing a Ramazan transmission without signing a contract. She revealed she usually works with one channel where she is comfortable working but for a change, she decided to do one month’s work for another renowned channel.

“I also made a mistake once. I am human so I also make mistakes. Once I signed up for a Ramzan transmission with a channel….I am one of those people who will work consistently at the same place. For instance, if you have a helper in your house who has worked with you for 30 years, they will have a different position in the house. So, I am happy if I am working at the same place for 10-12 years.

She continued:

“However, it happened once that I decided to do a test run and work with another channel for a month. Since I knew some people there, as I had worked with them at one point in my career, there was also this trust factor. What happened was that I went for a transmission show and the host wasn’t able to deliver aptly and I eventually took over somehow in order to manage the situation, since the show was live. When I was about to leave, they called me to their office after the show ended and offered me the transmission. Even the host wanted me to take her place since she wasn’t able to cope with the pressure. Eventually, somehow, I agreed to do the show without the contract.”

The actress further added that the channel did not give her the contract and kept on delaying it. As she was already doing the transmission, she asked the channel to give her payment on the 27th Ramazan. They initially agreed but did not pay her and asked her to wait for a couple of days. After pestering them and refusing to do the show on the last day, the channel finally gave her the contract, but it only had her signature.

Hina Bayat further revealed that she took her husband’s help to get her payment after going through a legal procedure.

“My husband advised me to follow up and have a written conversation with them rather than discussing the problem over the phone. They never agreed to give me the payment until my husband involved a lawyer and I started receiving my payments in instalments. There were still some delays, but I finally received my total payment after 2 to 2 and a half years.”

Unfortunately, such incidents are a common occurrence in our entertainment industry. It is essential that the relevant organizations ensure that contracts are in place before the work begins and are fulfilled in order to avoid scam and fraud.
