Mahira Khan turns up the heat in Turkey!
The queen of hearts, the diva, the superstar Mahira Khan has posted a throwback picture of her vacations in Turkey recently, and although we don’t have any any idea what temperature it was in that blissful country at that time, but Mahira has certainly turned up the heat, there and back here in Pakistan.
Exclusive: Live-action superhero film ‘Ghazi’ is readying for extensive promotional campaign
It seems romantic comedy is the go-to genre for filmmakers in Pakistan. It surely has commercial viability and public appeal and has proven to be a profitable idea recently. When everyone is taking the rom-com path, few filmmakers are traversing the less traveled roads and trying their hands at genres less familiar to the local audience, especially sci-fi.
After the success of animated super-hero series, ‘3 Bahadur’, by Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy, Pakistan’s new-age cinema is ready for the release of first live-action superhero flick ‘Ghazi’. The high-budget film looks promising from its outlook and may prove to be a stepping stone for sci-fi and superhero films in Pakistan. This potential game-changer, in making for quite some time, is now readying for an extensive promotional campaign before its expected release close to Eid-al-Azha this year.

As per our source, who requested to remain anonymous, a leading brand of fruit-flavored drink, Tang, has been roped in as the main sponsor of the superhero film ‘Ghazi’. The brand has chalked out a detailed plan for the film’s promotional campaign which will kick start in the time span of June-July and last for couple of months before the film hits the theaters.
The list of planned activities, shared with us by the source, mostly includes traditional and time-tested ideas, like, TV shows, road shows, PR events, rich media advertisements and red carpet premieres etc. Additionally, the marketing teams of ‘Ghazi’ and Tang are planning to launch video game app and digital comics to engage the youth and promote the film on wider scale. This seems an exciting idea to promote the superhero genre among youth and through effective media.
We tried to reach Sheheryar Munawar to get his comment on it but could not hear back from him.
Produced by Ali Raza and directed by Nadir Shah, the film’s cast includes Humayun Saeed, Sheheryar Munawar, Syra Sheroz, Adnan Jaffar, Talat Hussain and Aamir Qureshi. ‘Ghazi’ is being made using advanced technology and an international team of VFX experts is helping in creating the visual effects for it.
We are really excited for this project and looking forward to further details.

Guess what! ‘Raasta 2’ is in the making and will release in 2018
While ‘Raasta’ may not be doing that well at the box office, it has not deterred hero Sahir Lodhi from announcing a sequel.
Yes, you read that right! As per HIP, at the premiere of his film in Karachi, Sahir Lodhi revealed that work on ‘Raasta 2’ is on and that the film goes on floor this September with a 2018 release date in mind.
For those who have seen ‘Raasta’ they know that quite a few major plot points were never explained in the film and at the very end we were informed that a sequel is in the making. And looks like the sequel is very much happening!
Planned as a prequel the film will answer all the questions that were left unanswered. Not much is not about this development but we will keep you posted.
Box Office Update: ‘Raasta’ opens to empty cinemas all over Pakistan
Looks like the clouds of bad luck are yet not ready to leave our films alone. After ‘Thora Jee Le’, ‘Balu Mahi’ and ‘Whistle’, now the fourth Pakistani release of the year ‘Raasta’ has opened to a lackluster response.
The Sahir Lodhi starrer which released yesterday 31 March failed to gather any buzz as was evident from almost empty cinema halls all over Pakistan. Galaxy Lollywood’s Momin Ali Munshi watched the film at DHA Cinema Lahore at the prime time of 7:45 pm and the cinema had about 20 people in the audience. Similarly, cinemas all over Pakistan saw a poor response as people did not turn up to see the film.
As per reports, the film has managed to collect 2 million ( 20 lakhs) on the very first day. Given, the extremely negative word of mouth lets see if the film picks up in the coming days. For the sake of our film industry, we hope it does!
Stay tuned to Galaxy Lollywood for all updates.
Here’s how to get your very own ‘it’ wedding!
Shaadi idhr, shaadi udhr! It’s definitely raining wedding these days (divorces too, though), and we aren’t complaining. Generally, when we used to say the word shaadi we thought of rasmein, family, color, dances, and a lot of fun! But now, in addition to these basics (which were already an addition in their own right to the simple Nikah and Walima celebrations), there are quite a few things that have been added to the mix and come to mind when we talk wedding today.
Its official: Mahira Khan is doing Bilal Lashari’s Maula Jatt reboot
A while back Galaxy Lollywood exclusively revealed the power-cast of Bilal Lashari’s Maula Jatt reboot, which included the name of raeeszadi Mahira Khan. There had been no official confirmation on the female leads from any of the parties until now, and recently the rumors of Mahira Khan “pulling out of the project and leaving the production in a fix” surfaced in the media.
Putting an end to the rumor mills, Mahira Khan finally takes the wrap off it and confirms that she had indeed signed the project and has been training to participate in the shoot soon.
While speaking with Aamna Isani for Something Haute (SH), Mahira Khan says, “I am doing Maula Jatt reboot. I am totally on board. It’s also totally out of my comfort zone, so it’s a good challenge.”
This must be a sign of relief for the fans of Mahira Khan. The Raees star will share the screen with Fawad Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi and Humaima Malik in this mega-budget reboot of Punjabi cult classic, Maula Jatt, written and directed by Bilal Lashari.

Mahira Khan is playing Mukhoo, the love interest of Maula Jatt (Fawad Khan) in the film, which is being shot in its original language that is Punjabi. To improve her elocution she is taking classes, as told by her in the interview to SH. She has never done any Punjabi-speaking character before, so it will be interesting to see how does she pull it off
Mahira Khan is also required to put on some extra weight for the film, which seems a daunting task to her. She told, “Billy (Bilal Lashari) said he wanted more weight but anyone who knows me knows that I can’t possibly eat more than I already do.”
We are looking forward to this amazing project more impatiently than before NOW.
These 5 kick-ass dialogues of Sahir Lodhi in ‘Raasta’ will blow you away!
Sahir Lodhi needs no introduction. The RJ-turned-morning-show-host-turned-actor has been sailing against the wind and keeping a love-hate relationship with the audience for years. He is now gearing up to try his luck on the silver screen in debut film ‘Raasta’, releasing on 30th March.
Interestingly, Sahir Lodhi has worked in almost every department of the film in ‘Raasta’. He not only co-produced, co-wrote and co-directed the film, but also acted in it and penned its dialogues and lyrics. He might have trust issues with others sharing his workload, but it seems he is just going the extra mile to make a mark on the big screen as vehemently as possible.
Unlucky in love for the fourth time; Noor files for divorce!
It’s definitely a bad time for celebrity marriages. Just recently Mohsin Abbas Haider and wife got divorced, then Jana Malik and husband Noman Javaid got separated, Veena Malik and husband Asad almost ended things and now its Lollywood diva Noor Bukhari who called it quits last night.
Noor announced this news with a tweet.
https://twitter.com/NoorBukhari/status/846147415249866752
Later, she made a post on her personal blog ‘Noor Says’ and wrote:
“Before everyone starts blaming me and putting news that I am divorce again and laugh on my tragedy. I want to say that please don’t make assumptions, No women wants to be divorced or decided to leave a marriage unless circumstances become so difficult to live together.”
She talked about how she never wanted a divorce and was scared of the word itself:
“I don’t want to go into details but all I can say is that I tried my best for four years to sustain this relationship just because I was too scared of getting divorced again. I am even paranoid from this word, but I guess “Meri qismat mai apne Ghar ka Sukh hai hi nahi. I had promised myself that mera janaza nikly ga par main nahi niklun gi apny husband ke Ghar se”
She requested people to not judge her:
“Anyway to cut the long story short I am in pain, in too much pain and I would really appreciate if you all don’t judge me please. Our Society never blame the men and the women is to blame for a broken marriage. But my Allah knows the reality and I am only answerable to him. All my prayers are with Wali, best wishes for him. He is a good human being maybe I am not good enough for him. So yes before all of you laugh on my misery I am divorced again.”
The actress had secretly tied the knot with singer Wali Hamid Khan in 2015, which she made public in November 2016. Reportedly, the couple fell in love on the sets of their film ‘Ishq Positive’. Before marrying Wali, Noor has been through three unsuccessful marriages.

Noor Bukhari first got hitched in 2008 to Vikram who reportedly promised Noor that he would convert to Islam but despite a lot of convincing from Noor didn’t fulfill that promise, and thus Noor filed for divorce. Yes, this is the same guy who caused quite a stir on the Nadia Khan Show back in the day and it was this episode that ended Nadia Khan’s illustrious career.

Then in 2010 she tied the knot with film director and producer Farooq Mengal but ended things due to domestic violence.

In 2012 Noor married third husband Awn Chaudhry who was already a father of two sons. While the marriage could not last long ( reasons not known), it did give Noor a precious gift in the form of her daughter.
In conclusion, we at Galaxy Lollywood want to say that stay strong girl, everything will be alright. And to all the readers, well we can never say for sure who’s wrong and who’s right as we don’t know what all happens in their personal lives, so lets not judge.
6 Pakistani films in running for an Eid-ul-Fitr release!
It is common knowledge that an Eid release is what almost every film-maker wants for his/her film. The period has a history of guaranteeing box office success which makes it the most sought after release date. Year after year we see film-makers fighting it out as they want their film to release on this golden date and although the number of films that finally release on Eid is not the same as is seen weeks before, it’s often more than what the audiences can digest resulting in films eating into each others business.
This time around we have six major Pakistani films which seem to be in the running for an Eid-ul-Fitr release.
First up is Yasir Nawaz’s Mehrunisa V Lub You which stars Danish Taimoor and Sana Javed in the lead roles and is a romantic comedy. Of all the films this was the first one to announce its release date via a quirky poster. Still, we checked with Danish Taimoor to see whether the film would be releasing on the mentioned date and he gave an affirmative answer and assured us that the film was very much releasing on Eid.
Second up is Jhol which is again a romantic comedy with a star cast that includes names like Urwa Hocane, Ali Azmat, Bilal Ashraf, Nausheen Shah and Saleem Mairaj. Directed by Shahid Shafaat the film also features an item number featuring Ayesha Omar. We checked with the makers and were told that the film is definitely releasing this Eid.
Third is Shaan Shahid’s ambitious venture Arth 2 which stars Shaan himself along with Humaima Malick, Mohib Mirza, and Uzma Hassan. Now while Shaan did announce Eid as the release date for his film on facebook when we tried to confirm it with him we did not get a definitive answer. So its still to be seen whether this film releases on Eid or not.
Fourth is again a Shaan Shahid starrer. Directed by Hassan Waqas Rana Yalghaar stars Shaan Shahid, Humayun Saeed, Adnan Siddiqui, Bilal Ashraf, Sikander Rizvi, Gohar Rasheed, Sana Bucha, Armeena Khan, Ayesha Omar, Uzma Khan, Aleeze Naseer and others. We have learned from reliable sources that the film might just finally release this Eid-ul-Fitr although there has been no official announcement as such.
Fifth in line is Shoaib Mansoor’s eagerly awaited film Verna which stars Mahira Khan and Haroon Khan. Now while it was initially announced that the film is releasing on Eid there has been no official announcement by the team. We did contact Haroon who told us that the shooting is yet to end and with post -production and all its highly unlikely that the film will be releasing on Eid.
Lastly on the list is Geo Sar Utha Kay which marks the debut of Shafqat Cheema’s son Shehryar Cheema. The film features quite a few new faces who will be sharing screen space with veterans like Nayyar Ejaz, Shafqat Cheema, and others. Directed by Nadeem Cheema the film is also in the Eid race although the makers do not want to announce the date as of yet, but an Eid release is definitely on the cards.
Also joining these local films will be Bollywood biggie Tubelight starring Salman Khan and four films from Hollywood: The Mummy, Wonder Woman, Transformers: The Last Knight and Despicable Me 3.
With exactly three months to go, let’s see which of these films finally makes it to cinemas this Eid-ul-Fitr i.e June 25. Do comment and let us know which film has you the most excited.
